The Holt Brothers…Champions Off The Field

Two men I’ve always been proud to call fellow Wolfpacker’s are Torry and Terrance Holt, not only for their on-the-field production but more for what they do off the field. They are wonderful examples of men who use the gifts and opportunities they’ve been given to give back to others instead of making it all about themselves.

N.C. State’s Holt brothers team up to help care for cancer victims

As recently as 2008, brothers Torry and Terrence Holt were making their impact on an NFL field. Now, they are working something even bigger.

The former N.C. State standouts launched the annual Holt Brothers Football Camp at the WRAL soccer center Friday, marking the first time the former Wolfpack duo hosted the camp outside of their hometown of Gibsonville. An estimated 85 participants from 1st to 8th grade participated in Friday’s festivities. A smaller and more specialized group of high school students will prepare for a “High intensity skill specific training” session today.

The camp is all about fun, but it serves a more important purpose.

…their message of encouragement goes beyond the hospital and cancer centers. For the young campers at the Holt brothers’ football camp, Torry and Terrence help put dreams into perspective.

“People look at odds and say that’s there’s one in so many that will ever make it to the highest level and all that stuff – but why can’t that one be you?” Terrence said. “We try to impress upon the kids that you can create your own legacy and your own path.”

Those guys are great. My family did the holt walk prior to the Spring Game. We really enjoyed it.

    Character not characters.

Compare these two fine men against disgusting varmint like Michael Jordan, who does absolutely nothing with his fame and fortune to advance humanity.

And if my memory serves me correctly they were off the star talent radar when being recruited to play at NC State…….

Love the Holt brothers. Absolutely great reps of NC State -someone help me out here, didn’t Torry have to prep for a year? If so, it also demonstrates that kids who don’t make the grade right out of high school aren’t thugs/stupid/lazy – (not that only Holt proves, just to say, don’t be too hard on kids who don’t make the grade.)

I couldn’t possibly speak more highly of them. Every account I hear about those guys are positive. Really great people, and true Wolfpackers!

One state university in the Triangle TALKS about class.

    The other one LIVES it.

“…didn’t Torry have to prep for a year?”

Affirmative. Hargrave Military for one season.

Both are excellent reps for the Pack. Torry’s ’98 game against FSU will always be one of my favorite “NCSU Football Moments”.

this one always makes me cry. Its the Butch Davis farewell tour

note at 5:25 min mark look at the UNC fan beside the NC STATE fan. That sums up the whole Butch Davis era and the UNC fans reaction which is total disbelief. LMAO!!!

^^ Yup. That was about the time that poor Teddy Bridgewater was beginning to realize he’d eaten several turf sandwiches and taken a pretty massive beating for nothing.

Here’s hoping that Amerson pulls another nail-in-the-coffin pick 6 in a bowl game this year. Preferably in Miami (as long as I’m wishing for things).

I realize this is a bit off topic, but I think you all may be interested to know that our program has made history again. Women’s basketball coach Kelly Harper “will be the first female coach EVER to rock her own collection of high heels.”

While other schools have high heel shoes for sale, coach Harper is the ONLY coach with her own collection. Before anyone asks, no, I do not have a foot fetish. This was brought to my attention by my wife.
