I know it isn’t NC State related. You may not care…but, I do. So, I am sharing with those of you who care. More from Grantland.

Thank god! I thought Lee Fowler was returning as AD. Phew!

    ^That is classic.

But, Fowler could never be a “Knight”. A knight has to actually care about something and have the energy and ability to fight for it.

Havent been impressed with the trailers for this movie. Seeing as this movie has to live up to the Dark Knight, I have been left wanting.

Not that they are not good. But I am expecting more.

I think it looks good; even better than Dark Knight. I’m looking forward to seeing it. Just disappointed they didn’t get Jim carrey in there as the Riddler or Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze.

On a related note: I was looking up Christopher Nolan on imdb.com and didn’t realize that he was involved (writer) with the new Superman movie, Man of Steel, in 2013. But, I was most surprised to see him listed as a writer for an Untitled Batman Reboot in 2015. Is that serious? It has “announced” as the status. I know that Dark Knight Rises is the end of this trilogy. Is he doing another, “alternate universe” Batman with a different actor? Thought it was kind of strange.

Just read this today. I know the average fan wouldn’t give a crap, but some of you technical-types might enjoy it (although a “physics major” in the comments section noted that his calculations are off and I know that internet commenters are usually right on the money as well as respectful of their fellow commenters):

“Near the conclusion of “The Dark Knight,” The Joker falls from the top floor of a 20-story building. He would splat on the ground in 4 seconds. Yet Batman has enough time observe the fall, draw his grappling hook launcher, fire it and save The Joker. In order to catch The Joker, who would after 3 seconds be falling at about 50 miles per hour, the grappling hook would need to come out of the launcher traveling perhaps 1,000 feet per second, nearly the speed of a pistol bullet. A grappling hook moving 1,000 feet per second would be pretty hard to control, even for the Caped Crusader. The recoil from enough propellant to launch to 1,000 fps a hook-and-cable combination weighing orders of magnitude more than a bullet would throw even a muscular man backward.

When The Joker was snagged in midair at 50 mph and his momentum halted in an instant, force equals mass times acceleration means a transfer of many hundreds of pounds to Batman, who is holding the other end of the grappling line. This would rip Batman’s arm out of his shoulder socket.”

I am all about Marvel but I do like DC as well. I was able to see “The Avengers” a couple of nights ago and have this comment. It is the best superhero movie I have ever seen. Five star for sure.

I love it. But. Why can’t we get past the origin story/Joker/Catwoman aspects of Batman? What is is about our collective unconscious that we are so hung up on those storylines to the exclusion of all others?
