    BJD95 –
Thanks, you just answered my question. Not here enough to be familiar with all the d-bags.

This team has plenty of heart. They may not make the NCAA tournament, and if they end up in the NIT, we still need to give them our full support.

If the NIT is where this team ends up, they could very well win it.

I hear Warren is the real deal. He’s got an old man, mid-range Paul Pierce game. I think he cuts into Scooter’s time but no one sends him to the bench next year IMO.

Just run the table, lock up the 5th seed beat Georgia Tech day one and VA day two. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.

And yes, it is abundantly clear Roy enjoys beating us.

We’ll never beat the Tarholes or Dook until we learn to defend the 3 point shot. We weren’t in the vicinity of the shooter(s) in the 1st half and not a lot better in the 2nd. We’ll never outscore them, so we’ve got to slow them down on the defensive end.

Our post play on offense was light years ahead of the first time we played the Heels. It’s incredibly encouraging to hear Gott talk about how we needed to be more creative in the post, and then see that actually play out on the court. We have a real coaching staff here, fellas.

UNC is just really good. We hung with them for a while, and we never gave up down the stretch. I’m ok with that.

Miami goes down to Terps tonight. Future is still in our hands, run of three and we almost surely finish fourth. UVA play tonite against VT, then UNC, FSU and Maryland. We have a lot to play for and its the END of February!

….if you heard Coach Gott on the postgame…he said it all.

some times I think he reads SFN.

    Good night gentlemen.

So did we win this game too or was that just the dook game? Just making sure. Wouldn’t want to piss off anyone.”

You being your usual antagonistic self is enough to piss everyone off

I think this unc team wins it all. They are custom built for the NCAA tourney.

Northwestern lost in OT in addition to Miami gakking down the stretch in College Park. None of these bubble teams are stepping up.

What happened to our free throw shooting? We may well have lost this game at the free throw line.

Well I wish we could have pulled it off but we’re just not as good. I’m really proud of how far they’ve come this year though. Everyone is playing as a team and not as individuals this year and they definitely have better leadership this year. Leslie has made huge strides and has his head on straight this year. Brown is stepping up to be a leader if he can keep it consistent. Hopefully we can finish out the year on a positive note and continue to improve into next year. I had hoped for a few upsets over the past few games but had a feeling it probably wouldn’t happen. Hang in there Pack. We’re getting there but it takes time.

Lunardi had us as the last team in earlier today, with Texas the last out.

“They played wood the way we should have played marshall. Wood wasn’t allowed to be open at the mid court line. We left marshall wide the frack open way too much.”

You do know that Kendall Marshall is a 27% 3PT shooter, right? He hasn’t made more than 2 3PT shots in a game all year. We were playing off him intentionally to double down on their bigs. It worked, too. We did a much better job on Zeller. Unfortunately, Marshall (who is, again, a terrible shooter) shot 5-6 on his jumpers tonight (4-5 from behind the arc). There’s not much you can do about that.

    ^ Nail. Head.

all 7 threes they hit in the first half were wide open. If u let the worst 3 point shooting team in the league shoot 50%, you will lose (see gt)

Had Duke shot 7-14 instead of 1-14 on their wide open threes, we never would have been in the game.

The refs were typically and predictably awful, but the refs didn’t call any fouls on the wide open jumpers that we gave away all night.

Perimeter defense will determine if this an NCAA tourney team or not

Very proud of the effort. Rome wasn’t (re)built in a day. This is an undermanned team in their first year of real coaching. I’m very impressed with CJL and how he’s been responding to the coaching lately. I never thought I would say that. Remember we only won 5 conference games last year. We are so much better than that. Go pack!

This game was much more than I’d hoped for after FSU.

Bubble consideration: with Miami losing to Maryland, if we beat the U at home, they very well may drop out of the top 50 RPI, leaving us without a win against the top 50.

As i mentioned elsewhwere, however: this is a FUN conversation to be having in late February…
