I agree coach13 why Wood continues to play so much is beyond me.

Henson is a first class POS

  3. Pack Mentality 02/21/2012 at 10:31 PM #

Our overall team shooting is what prevents us from being a great team.

BJD: “Sure there are positives – we got our minds back in it. They are just 10-15 points better than us. So be it.”

Agreed 100%. Now they need to take advantage of the next 3 and get 10 ACC wins.

Time to rest our legs and get ready to take on Clempsum.

Maybe Wood is holding out for the tournament to get hot ??

    elephant in the room:
    1. Gott has a ‘comb-over’. so say the ladies.
    2. Gott’s gotta want to beat UNX More Than Eat.

The path to anything but the NIT is a tough one but not out of the question. The Clemson game REALLY worries me. They have been playing better of late.

“So did we win this game too or was that just the dook game? Just making sure. Wouldn’t want to piss off anyone.”

I didn’t see anyone here claim such a thing.

Agree with most of you guys about the team being there mentally. Simply a matter of 1) Not enough horsepower, and 2) No 3-pt threat as a team. By the second half, knowing that Wood and CJW are off from the perimeter, UNC could simply not worry about it. We need a legit outside threat, and a little depth. Looks like that is coming in next year. This team, minus a leading scorer (Tracy) and a warm body on the bench (Harrow), is light years ahead of where we were. I am very proud of this team, flaws and all.

Agree it got stolen last week but still saw EVERY big game this year go down as a loss. Hey, I love the Pack and will not quit on them but surely you see basis for asking where is the heart. Have you forgotten all the years in the far past when State used to WIN as the out-matched team?

“Their starters have 8 fouls; ours, 17.”

    Here we go again.

re: wood…. just one question… who can take his spot ???

    re: answer… WTNY

Everyone with the exception of Scott Wood played great and we lose. So be it, they’re a better team. Proud of the team tonight.

  16. eas 02/21/2012 at 10:35 PM #

    We won this game…..

  17. packpowerfan 02/21/2012 at 10:36 PM #

The idea that the team lacks heart is preposterous. In many games they have lacked FOCUS and POISE, but heart has been there with much to spare.

  18. eas 02/21/2012 at 10:36 PM #

    Harris can take his place.

  19. Whiteshoes67 02/21/2012 at 10:37 PM #

We’re one dimensional in too many spots. But each player has improved, and that’s a start. Decision making with Howell is still an issue. Depth will help but this team should’ve picked up 3-4 more wins. The UVA, GT, Stanford games are really back breakers.

“Have you forgotten all the years in the far past when State used to WIN as the out-matched team?”

    That ended with Robinson.

And/or Roy gets his team more fired up to play us than Dean did. We’ve only beaten a Roy Williams coached team (Kansas or UNC) once and we shot 76.5% from the floor in the 2nd half to do it.

Roy can’t retire fast enough, as far as I’m concerned.

    Don’t feed the troll.

I am much less worried about going 7-9 than I was earlier today. 9-7 is by far the likeliest scenario. Which is still a great accomplishment for a program this downtrodden. And remember, 9-7 on paper is 10-6 by any fair standard. 🙂

  22. choppack1 02/21/2012 at 10:40 PM #

Wood is a lot easier to defend when our guys aren’t driving and the d doesn’t have to worry about help. Bjd is right as rain on this one. Unc is a horrible matchup for us.

    re: Harris … no way.

  24. packplantpath 02/21/2012 at 10:41 PM #

Happiest I’ve been after a loss in a long time. Outside the tick tacky stuff that never seems to get called on our opponents, and one missed moving screen leading to a 3 in the first 5 minutes I though officiating was pretty decent. Nothing egregiously bad anyway.

Those of you complaining about wood need to watch closer. Dude was running his ass off and simply couldn’t get open. If he was anywhere near close to open they would hand check and force him to pass. They played wood the way we should have played marshall. Wood wasn’t allowed to be open at the mid court line. We left marshall wide the frack open way too much.

They are all now must wins. Any loss to Clemson, Miami or VT is damaging, now that we have beaten no one of consequence all year long.
