Video preview & important reminder — tonight on ESPNU

Important reminder to everyone that Mark Gottfried’s NC State Basketball program will be featured on ESPNU tonight at 6pm. Link

The Wolfpack granted an ESPN crew all-access accommodations to take a behind-the-scenes look at the team recently. That segment is scheduled to air on ESPNU on the eve of the Wolfpack’s visit to Chapel Hill to play rival North Carolina. Gottfried had been working as an ESPN commentator prior to taking the N.C. State job last spring.

The following is a preview of the show.

Very refreshing to see the BEST NC University get the feature here…nothing blue about it. GO PACK!!!!

I thought the important reminder was going to be that we shouldn’t get too overly optmistic about the ESPN feature because they’ll manage to put a couple of jabs in there about how we wish we were one of the blues or that we ran off a great coach 6 years ago.

Check up the upcoming schedule on ESPN Classics to see a couple NC State historical games from the 1983 ACC Tournament. Both are coming up tomorrow before the game.

Love the Scott Wood trick shots. The other day I sank a basket on my son’s Little Tikes hoop from across the room. He shouts, “Scott Wood!” I was so proud. (He’s only 2.)

I actually was debating on whether to devote time to watching this or just recording it and catching it later, but the preview actually kind of sold me. It’ll be great to “get to know the players” more and see how practices run.

On a sidenote, I agree with many I hear complain on twitter… I don’t like our ESPNU logo at all (not my new avatar)…

LOL, love those trick shots by Wood!

First impression: I like what I am seeing, but a bit amazed that Sid did not pick up the mantle of capturing the history of days past in the Dail Center.

Additionally, I like our ESPNU logo…I watched the ~5 min video of all the other logos and I thought it was pretty solid compared to some.

That was awesome. Sign me up coach! This should really help with recruiting. I know they were instructed to watch. Jefferson you ready to sign?!

We have an awesome staff. We better not let Lutz leave after 2 years throw the kitchen sink at him $ talks. He might be worthy of Dalonte Hill type salary.

It’s on again tomorrow at 5 if you – like me – forgot to set the DVR today.

Very positive and good for our program! No fakes here, an excellent 30 minute add.

Great show. Two things from it…one, bet Lowe never pushed the team like that in practice. Love the way Gott is always on Calvin. Two, was interesting to see how much Lutz is involved in actual coaching.

Was really amazed that Lowe had not instilled and displayed more of the NCSU history and trophys that Gott now has in place. Great seeing the Gott boys interact with the team. Great sushi resturant where CJ and Johnson are eating at, eat there regularly !

“I believe we can be really good” Gott….Go Pack Beat Tarholes !

I also LOVED it. I’m sure it will turn recruits’ heads. I also thought it was great that it showed CJ and Zo paying for their haircuts.

I’ve never heard of that barbershop. Anyone else notice the fishbowl full of condoms that had a sign “Please Take One” on it? Classic.

I saw that. It was actually Take ONE. As in, have some safe sex son, but you better not take two.

    The Dail Center looked fantastic.

“Love the way Gott is always on Calvin”
He was on him but it was not all negative. You could hear them reinfocing good behavior as well as bad.

I really liked that. It shows how Gott has embraced NCSU.

I am shocked at how Lowe did not care about the history, or maybe it was too much effort.

That was great press for the Pack.

And did anyone else wonder why CJ was getting a hair cut when it was already so short?

  19. Wufpacker 01/26/2012 at 8:49 AM #

Agreed re: Lowe not embracing history. When it was stated (words to the effect) that NCAA and ACC Championship trophies had to be dug out and in some cases even REPAIRED, I thought I was gonna lose it.

I don’t know how much of that was Lowe’s doing, or not doing, but shocked is an understatement.

As far as CJW’s haircut…apparently, like a good boy does, he was doing it because his Mama said so.

Great piece – I love our coaching staff ! Teaching and encouraging… and the Dail Center was most impressive.

Glad the trophies and banners have been refurbished and the greatness of the past has been emphasized. Re-awaken the sleeping giant…

NCSU’s Sports Information Office ought to be putting together clips like this, don’t you think ???

Oh, and BEAT SOME TARHEEL ASS !!!!
