NC State Football Video

One of our long time readers and prominent member of our message board community sent us this over the weekend and we wanted to share it with you this morning.

This is just some FANTASTIC work and we really appreciate the opportunity to share it with you.

The following information was also attached in the email….

“Every year there is a thread on multiple boards discussing what the intro song should be for NC State Football to get the fans worked up as the players run onto the field. Unfortunately, this is not what you will be seeing this fall.

If the Athletic department wishes to use any video that was broadcasted by local stations ESPN, Raycom, etc, they are required to jump through legal hoops in order to get the proper licensing. Same applies for any audio. The simple act of showing the content of any footage without ownership or a license to a mass audience at Carter Finley is enough to get sued or fined. We are lucky to have the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh such that we have a deal with Canesvision that allows them to produce NC State audio and videos such as what our teams come out to on the court and gridiron. Lets hope that the Canesvision team puts together something to get the crowd nice and frothy.”

Awesome way to start the morning.

That poster this year is one of my favorites as well.

    Almost time to start tailgaiting.

Audie Cole always surprises me at 0:58. Of course, he probably surprised the QB too, heh.

53 more days? Something like that…

I LOVE this video! Watched it at home this morning, and again once I got to work!

But I disagree about this song needing to be our intro song as players run onto the field. There’s only about 10-15 seconds before they are all on the field. This song takes entirely too long to get through all the build-up part and to the jamming part. We’d have to cut right to the louder part, but then we’d miss all the build-up to it, and that is half the fun of this song. Plus, if we jumped to the loud part, it’s just not as loud or pumped as other songs would be (like any number of ACDC songs would be).

This VIDEO should be shown on the video board, though. I think it would be the perfect introduction to our new video board. But then let the players run out onto the field to a good, jamming, ACDC tune!

For a few years during the Amato era we had some great music and videos during football games. In recent years, the videos have been, at best, amateurish and sometimes embarrassing. The audio level of the music has also been turned down to the point you can’t hear it well. I’ve assumed it was due to the request of some big donor who would rather hear Jim Croce tunes playing.

Videos like this is what needs to be the norm. Surely we could have some say-so contract-wise about the video these sports stations capture and broadcast from our venues so we could have limited access to them for these purposes.

    Awesome video!

However, they should have had the SACK in the end zone for the safety when we took down the cheaters.

    “Awesome video!

However, they should have had the SACK in the end zone for the safety when we took down the cheaters.”

Most shots of that play were not of sufficient quality, zoomed to far out, or not as dynamic as they needed to be to make the cut. Safeties are awesome, but not the best in terms of pain.

I actually had problems in that my previous video used some of the best material from last year, and had I used it again it would have been the same thing basically which is no good.

I must say, there is a tremendous amount of material the athletic department owns that can be used to make some killer vids. The behind the scenes video is what is the best. Just look at the practice footage from this video. I assume that Canesvision has access to that mess. The problem for them is the budget. They spend so much on computer generated effects that, last year, they had to make a generic video that could be used for every game.

The Amato Era “Boom” song is basic as hell, awesome as hell, and cheap as hell. However, when doing these things I have quickly realized that you will run out of audio very fast. If you want to do it right you could only use “Boom” for one year for example. Then what? You have to find some other music or make your own. And there are few audio clips that make for a worthy video.

VT has there traditional Sand Man that works every year. Dont know if our fan base would like something used over and over. Ex: Boom

    Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Love the choreography and the musical selection. I enjoy hard music, but it’s refreshing to hear something so well matched to a football video that isn’t a heavily distorted guitar-driven piece.

No offense to RW, but I don’t want to see him in a single pregame video when he is playing for another university. He was an awesome player for us, but if he wins big this year, he won’t be remembered for his time at NCSU, he will be remembered as a Wisconsin Badger. I would rather see highlights of our current players than those of transferred ones.

I understand the RW comment but dang that was a good run. Anyway, this video is awesome and literally makes me think what if……we are really good!

    I can’t wait for football!!!!!!

    VERY nice video!

But I’m a sucker for any well-done football video with a good music background!

I do agree that it might take too long for a team entrance, but it’s great as a warm-up for the fans in the stands just prior to the team running on the field to another hard-driving, jamming piece of music.

    Good stuff!
