How do you do Ms. Wiley?

Folks, I have no idea what any of this means, but the N & O’s J.P. Giglio is tweeting up a storm as if something is afoot within tutorgate:

While we’re on Wiley’s academic credentials, the Durham County school system might want to take a second look at that resume

And why did McAdoo think WIley was viable option for academic help? Because after she was fired by the school, she was hired by Davis

At the crux of the McAdoo cheating saga, and what is being overlooked, is the employment status of Jennifer Wiley

Meanwhile, Mark Armstrong continues to extend a Twitter olive branch to Marvin, trying to get an interview:

It’s starting to feel like everyday is FRIDAY!

Speaking of Friday, where is that hypocrite?

Sure would be nice if he would explain what’s been going on for YEARS.

  2. hoop 07/18/2011 at 9:46 PM #

Wiley is just as guilty as Butch MF Davis. She was well aware that what she was doing was academic fraud and she did it over and over again. It’s high time for the tutor prong to be fleshed out.

And for some strange reason Twitter has been down throughout parts of the day and night. Hmmmmm……..

  3. packhammer 07/18/2011 at 9:49 PM #

Uh oh. Turns out Wiley didn’t actually get her degree or teaching certificate?

  4. SMD 07/18/2011 at 9:50 PM #

I just want to say that this is the BEST blog title and pop culture reference ever!! Love it.

  5. ppack3 07/18/2011 at 10:25 PM #

This begs the question…How did she obtain this position and why?

  6. choppack1 07/18/2011 at 10:28 PM #

I’m not buying what JP is selling. It’s almost been a year since the “Sam I am” episode.

He’s at the point w/ me where he has to prove something.

  7. TAEdisonHokie 07/18/2011 at 10:57 PM #

choppack1 – Just curious, but why would JP risk his credibility by tweeting a bunch of stuff about Wiley that he couldn’t back up? Does that make any sense at all?

Looks to me like JP is just fleshing out the allegations against Wiley in the NCAA’s NOA.

I thought we were going to lay off Ms Wiley. She is but a pawn in this game. An important one, with much information, but a pawn nonetheless. I guess the bus has arrived for her to be thrown under.

You’d better believe it…and I am driving that mother f@%*ker

It didn’t receive much coverage, but I think one of the most egregiously plagarized portions of the McAdoo paper was this:

“No hunt beware open and closed no credit.”

  14. PackerInRussia 07/19/2011 at 1:51 AM #

    Excellent title.

  15. Alpha Wolf 07/19/2011 at 6:52 AM #

“No hunt beware open and closed no credit.”

What in world is that supposed to mean?

  16. Texpack 07/19/2011 at 6:53 AM #

I’ve been saying for sometime now that Wiley was the potential time bomb. The money trail that ran through her is key.

  17. PackCracker 07/19/2011 at 7:17 AM #

    Cosmo,

Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh. Luckily, I wasn’t drinking anything or I’d be cleaning off the monitor.

    Alpha Wolf,

My recollection is that when they ask Ernest T. if he can read, he rattles off that phrase, since those are the signs he sees.

    Gentlemen,

You must know that this young lady is being supplied with whatever she wants: cars, fine dining, expensive shopping, autographed Depends from el deano, etc.

She was raised to regard everything associated with unc as being grounded in the finest and best of everything. To see her turn there will need to be some slight, a rejection of sorts, that will spur her into the revenge mode which is near inherent in all women.

She must be scorned by those she loves. When that happens this will all come crashing down in a fiery heap.

Two options are in play or a combination of the two:

    1) She is getting hush money

    2) She is being lead to believe her silence is protecting those she loves.

When she breaks it is going to be heaven (or hell).

    McCallum

Damnit, I AM cleaning off the monitor! Just what I needed – a good laugh ahead of the Tuesday morning management meetings….Thanks!

Ha – I love it….it’s all starting to make sense, thanks to UNC Alum Andy Griffith. Is Marvin some latter-day Ernest T? It seems there’s precedence to graduate troublemakers and send them on their way….this Wikipedia synopopsis:

” Episode #133, “The Education of Ernest T. Bass”, he tries to impress his love interest Ramona by getting an education. It is revealed that he cannot read or write, except for a few posted signs around town and in the hills. Ernest T. attends Helen Crump’s elementary school class, where he quickly becomes a nuisance. Fed up, Helen decides—on Andy’s advice—to graduate Ernest T., despite his insufficient education. She gives him his “diploma,” which is simply a certificate stating that he knows some arithmetic, can read and write some words, and knows the boundaries of the United States. In a touching ceremony, she announces that Ernest T. Bass has received his diploma “for learning–… For learning.” “

  21. Texpack 07/19/2011 at 8:24 AM #

Ernest T Bass is one of the greatest television characters of all time. Brilliant headline and linkage to the academic side of Ernest T.

I fear I may have permitted Ms. Wiley to slip out the side door abit too abruptly myself. Interesting to see someone trying to flesh out some information. If there’s a better “hub” out there for the entire “spoke” approach, it would have be Santa himself. Any takers on whether money and other benefits ran from Blake to Wiley to whomever w/or w/out the knowledge of Davis? For those in the know, please keep abreast of this situation. Thank you.

  23. ppack3 07/19/2011 at 8:41 AM #

^ Too, even though Butch says she was tutoring his son, the fact of the matter is that money changed hands, admittedly. It’s not a big leap to think that the money trail for tutor-gate ran straight through Butch.

Another thing, jobs are hard to come by these days. Especially jobs with the state. There are a lot of restrictions placed on the hiring party, dictating who can be hired and why. For someone to be hired without the required credentials is nearly impossible without a ton of ‘pull,’ because the hiring party could be dismissed for illegal hiring practices.

  24. Mike 07/19/2011 at 8:46 AM #

I cannot sit here and not correct Ernest T Bass’s love interest. Sorry.

It is not Ramona – it is Romena. And of course, we cannot forget Charlene Darling.

  25. lawful 07/19/2011 at 8:53 AM #

Very good point, ppack. The last time I checked, not only were education jobs extremely hard to come by, but they were eliminating them by the droves due to budgetary concerns. Things that make you go hmmmmm….

btw, does anyone else have to post their comments twice to get them to go through?
