Richard Howell out for UNC-CH

Any chance for an upset in Raleigh on Wednesday night just took a big hit for the Wolfpack. I never like having one player mean so much (Tracy Smith) when the officials have whistles and we are playing UNC.

    Yikes. I don’t like to hear that. I really like Howell. Painter is going to need to play a big part tomorrow. We will most likely need Vandenberg to play hard as well, plus he is a big body and has 5 fouls.

    More than anything, they need to come out in a zone and dare UNC to shoot 3s. For UNC to win, make them make 10-15 3s to win. I don’t think they can do that.

    Why do you assume State’s zone is going to force them to shoot outside?

    {/sarcasm}

    Yeah. Effective zone requires that the players actually rotate from side to side as the ball does…

    Howell is ineffective against teams with size.

    Did someone say that we need Vandenburg to play hard? When does he ever play anymore? I don’t remember seeing him at all in the Maryland game.

    Speaking of Painter it sure seems like the refs have it out for him.
    Vs Maryland they called fouls on him every time the offensive player initiated contact while Painter has his arms spread out wide and not close to the player. So bad that he sat on the bench the rest of the night. Whats up with picking on one player so much?

    I am a diehard pack fan, but unless they have a miracle up their sleeve, it ain’t gonna be pretty. And the Sidney Lowe farewell tour will continue.

    This will definitely hurt, but I still think we can beat them by double figures.

    Honestly if he was playing, Henson would have blocked like 9 of his shots on the inside anyway.

    Enough with all of the negative talk. We are playing the heels at home tonight (key phrase “at home”). Regardless of your feelings towards the coaching staff, stand up and be a fan for goodness sake. Pull for your team. My wife (a UNC alum) probably will not watch and she has stated that UNC winning this game is a certainty. Well, I for one will watch – I will pull for MY team (win or lose).
