Rashad McCants’ fledgling acting career

Today seems to be providing State fans everywhere an embarrassment of riches!!

The latest developments in Starvin’ Marvin’s saga are required reading.  Go ahead. Click on it. This will be here when you return.

A BIG thanks to The Big Lead (link to the video), which simply must be seen to be believed.  Rashad apparently plays a bi-sexual leader of a shoplifting ring.  I gather that the character also cross-dresses after watching the trailer.  You have to wonder if he sends his “employees” to steal womens clothes that he then keeps for himself.

The whole thing seems to have been shot through a green or blue-tinted lens and features former “adult” star Traci Lords opposite Rashad.

Some great quotes to listen for as you view the trailer:

“Tell the rest of those dumb m*fers to meet me at the warehouse now.”

“You know I don’t need those pills anymore.”

“You just messed with the wrong m*fer”

“It’s going to get real m*fer mythological in this m*fer place.  Believe that.”

..and my personal favorite:

“Yeah and I’m the bitch who is going to give you your hundred.  That’s what’s up.  Now you wanna tell me why you are still wearing women’s clothes?”

While we are talking about one of our all-time ‘favorite’ Tar Heels…I wanted to memorialize that this in-depth article from last summer’s ESPN The Magazine. “Born to be hated, dying to be loved: With all his talent, why can’t Rashad McCants get a job in the NBA?” is a detailed look into McCants’ reputation as a headcase and the reasons why no NBA team would hire him despite his talents.

That is the funniest thing I’ve seen since the piece SFN did on Marvin’s cupcakes!

Wow. Rashad really had to dig deep to play this role, didn’t he. I wonder how he ever found a way to research this role. LOL

I almost said that with a straight face!

About the movie trailer itself, it looks like a really, really bad “B” movie. I mean, this is the B movie of B movies.

The only thing missing is a Lewis Black cameo appearance. “Buh-Lee Dat”

Traci Lords’ story is pretty interesting. She should have stuck with porn.

Not only is he acting in it, but he’s one of the executive producers. You can join the Facebook group. So far there are 30 people in it (which is probably not even all immediate family members of the actors). http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Booster-Club-the-Series/175194009165771
Fortunately it’s being billed as a comedy. I wonder if that decision came after some screen tests.
I’m trying to decide if this will make him more loved at Carolina or want to be forgotten.
P.S. Are you still going to tell me that Matt Doherty was the problem?

    WTH was that?

I’m not really sure what the premise is … even after you explained it in the article.

If you had not given the blip about the shoplifting ring I would’ve that this was just random clips about well … I don’t know what.

Movie should get a long run in Chapel Hill. I’ll bet that where the story takes place.

It’s called “The Booster Club,” so I’m pretty sure it’s the story behind the story of UNC athletics. At least that’s what the previews seem like.

    What’s so funny?

Don’t you all know that the first thing any decent Carolina coach does is put his players in acting class?
