There have been A LOT of wtf wins/losses this year across the conference and NCAA. Considering we’ve had 2 (maybe 2.5) already, maybe we’ve had our share for the year and will just win out. It could happen…really, it could…

my only reason for voting for state is the fact that the impossible happened this weekend, so why not again??????

No really, I’m hoping that we actually step up and become men the next 3 games. This is where you prove who you really are. I’m hoping were going to be those pissed off, under appreciated guys who knock the piss out of two pretentious schools and one huge doublewide fridge.

Just tough to believe we can win three in a row. We are in a win one lose one pattern and I hope we can break through, get the offense back to 35 ppg and win this thing.

Stranger things have happened; we could win three in a row. With the field goal kicker out and the punter hitting a 4 yard punt the last time out, we should go with a Ga. Tech mentality and let Wilson finish out his career knowing that he has four downs on anything past our own thirty.

What do we have to loose? Lets go for a championship and forget anything else. What’s the difference between 6-6, 7-5, and even 8-4 who cares, all you get is a lousy bowl anyway.

Lets go for it all, it has been long enough since we won the ACC ( I think 1979). Hard to believe.

trieadwolf: I agree with you, maybe the ball will bounce our way for the rest of the year. Hope is all we have.

Am I the only person who could care less about winning the tallest midget contest? The punt on 4th and 1 completely deflated what little bit of air I had left after shitting our leg against ECTC.

    Does it really matter?

“Win” the division? The way it’s looked so far, whoever goes to Charlotte from the Atlantic will be the one who avoids losing it. But “win” it! Nobody seems to want it!

    This.

I don’t care if we lose out, as long as we fight like rabid wolves from hell for every tenth of an inch on that turf.

Grinch, I nominate you for motivational half time speech.

I voted for us but I have this really bad feeling in the pit of my gut that after this weekend there will be no more wins for us. I have moved on to basketball I don’t know about the rest of you idiots.

I’m more concerned about the Maryland game than the UNC game. The Terps always seem to have our number and they have been playing very well of late. That is no “gimmie” as it once seemed to be. I think we go 2-1 and it’s going to take a mathmatician to figure out who the Hokies get to whip in Charlotte.

Dogbreath, that’s exactly how I feel. Good luck to the Pack, I hope they win it, but I just can’t get excited about it.

  16. blpack 11/09/2010 at 8:04 AM #

Why not us? We should win out and play VT in Charlotte. Period.

I don’t appreciate being called an idiot by a quitter.

  18. Khan 11/09/2010 at 9:36 AM #

The question should be rephrased from, “Who will win the ACC Atlantic Division?” to “Who, despite doing everything in their power to the contrary, will reluctantly stumble into the division title?”

  19. Khan 11/09/2010 at 9:41 AM #

It’s unbelievable to me that at this point, with 47% of the precintcs reporting in, NC State is leading with 56% of the total votes, after 508 total votes.

Probably, we probably will probably beat Wake, probably, but there is no way we go 2-0 against MD and UNC. No way at all. We will likely go 2-1 the rest of the way, or quite possibly 1-2….neither of which leads to a likely result of us playing in the championship game.

  20. Daily Update 11/09/2010 at 10:31 AM #

We should be slight underdogs against UNC and Md. We are 6-2 vs. the spread overall. We have 3 straight up wins this year being underdogs(UCF, GT, and FSU) with two of those wins coming on the road.

It is less than 50/50 that we win both games, but it isn’t impossible if you look at our actual results.

  21. packof81 11/09/2010 at 10:44 AM #

I’d be happy if we can just beat the tarholes and win our last home game.

Grinch, I may have missed it but I didn’t see TGW call you an idiot…

I just don’t see it happening this year. We certainly had our chances, but the bed wetting last week, along with the fact that RW has apparently lost his mojo, our defensive pressure has all but disappeared, our special teams just took a big hit, and the Holes playing the way they are all means we’ll have at least one more loss. A lot of sunshine will have to fall on us for us to win out and go to the ACC championship. I’m hoping for 8-4 and a trip to Nashville or Charlotte in a bowl. Better than the last 6 or 7 years.

  24. 61Packer 11/10/2010 at 11:45 PM #

Because we have a coaching staff that would rather punt than go for a win, because we have a coaching staff that apparently wants our QB to be a passer when clearly he’s a runner, because we’ve just lost our experienced kicker for the season, and because of our schedule I think we’re going to finish 7-5 and go to the Mediocre Bowl.

Wake Forest is horrible this season, and even if we play flat and bad, we’re going to win Saturday. Wake is clearly the worst team in the ACC this season, not even close. But we could struggle long enough to let ’em hang around and make it interesting.

UNC, I’m afraid, is simply better now than we are and they’re also playing better. And they owe us. I don’t see a 4th straight win unless the NCAA rises up in the next two weeks and smacks down the Heels for their transgressions, which I still say will NOT happen. Not now, not ever.

Maryland is not better than we are, but we never play well there, plus a bad loss in Chapel Hill could demoralize us into another ECU-like performance. And when I see Navy ring up 76 on the Pirates, who smacked us, I wonder if we’re anywhere near as good as we think we are.

Charlotte looks as far away next month as Florida has looked the past several years. But both of those look close compared to how far away 1979 looks with each passing year.
