Saturday Open College Football Entry

You have probably noticed that the team at SFN has been working very hard to provide our readers expanded coverage in recent days/weeks.  With this said, much of our work gets pushed down the front page of the blog very quickly and runs the risk of being overlooked in favor of the most recent entry posted to the blog.  We want to appeal to you to ask that you please do us the courtesy of not focusing exclusively on only the most recent entry and be sure to surf through more of our front page work as well as our message forums.  We  measure ourselves with the number of page views, so it is important to us that you take in as much as you can.  Thanks!

As for today’s college football action…we primed the pump a little with our we our weekly AET entry yesterday.  So, please feel free to use this entry to discuss anything that you would like as somewhat of a free-for- all.

Those of you who like to watch lines will love this tool at SportsBook.com.  It shows the betting trends on all of college football games.

We’ll have more sporadically throughout the day, including on our Twitter Feed where you will find:

The local CBS station carries the Raycom game, but luckily the Navy-ND game is being carried by one of those cable stations that no one ever watches……Which means that I’m enjoying watch Navy beat the ever-luvin snot out of ND.

    6 possesions = 5 Navy TDs

35-10 Navy with 5 min left in the 3rd

Notre Dame loses and so does Mack Brown. That’s a good day.

Maryland gets Duke and Virginia out of the Coastal Division. Damn that must be nice. Holds off BC for a 24-21 win. Terps record will keep them in Atlantic Division contention no matter how bad they are.

Key tests are at Miami, and home vs FSU and NC State to end the season

Have I said “good luck” to Doc Holliday as his Marshall Thundering Herd do battle with ECU?

Maryland will lose all 3 of those games (@ Miami, FSU and NCSU).

NCSU has everything to play for on Thursday night. Beat FSU and Charlotte remains possible…lose and we’re just playing for positioning.

If we beat FSU, Clem and Wake, then we can lose to UNC and still have a good chance to get to Charlotte.

This just in…Auburn is a damned good football team.

To all those who thought UNC was looking good, I guess Miami didn’t agree. Kickin’ some holes butt!!! Oh Yeah!!!!!!

For the record, watching UNC game without sound much more pleasurable experience. I don’t have to hear announcers talk about how:

    – Butch is doing good job holding team together (in spite of him having several major violations under his on watch)
    – How great the defense would be with their full roster (in spite of those players actually cheating or taking money)
    – Yada yada yada

You would think it was the bit bad NCAA’s fault for their issues. I had enough of that the last several weeks. The fact they are losing this week makes it even better.

Paige-Moss thugg’n it up all game. Lots of ‘teachable moments’ for him tonight.

The real TJ Yates has surfaced.

Paige-Moss is a piece of sh*t; nice flipper after the PAT-never have I been a bigger fan of the U!

  12. redwolf87 10/23/2010 at 10:23 PM #

The media will be glad to run a story about how Paige-Moss gives of himself to help the community.

^^ It’s all about how Butch let’s the players express their individuality.

Wisconsin has screwed me two weeks in a row. Although today, Iowa handed it to them.

Arizona up now…and they have been a fairly entertaining team.

    red –

You do realize the badgers won, right? Iowa was favored. Can’t really say Iowa “handed it to them”…

Oh, never mind. I got it now. You mean Iowa gave it to them, as in gave it away. Gotcha.

  16. redwolf87 10/23/2010 at 11:37 PM #

    Yep, sorry for the confusion.

Iowa’s special teams play was abhorrent.

Enjoyed watching Navy drub ND in full-screen HD on Channel 2 (CBS) via antenna here in Wake County. Channel 2 also comes in mighty handy during the basketball season when Channel 5 dumps CBS games for even the lower-echelon ACCs games.

Yes, Auburn is a really good football team. And I have a hunch that Auburn will move up to #3 in the BCS, and regardless of what happens in another week, the BCS will put them ahead of Boise State in two weeks. But if Auburn loses, then you’ll see the BCS put Missouri ahead of BSU.

Heaven forbid Boise State, Utah or TCU be ranked #2 in the BCS, and God forbid they get #1.

  18. BJD95 10/24/2010 at 10:46 AM #

I want to see some combination of Oregon, Auburn, and Boise State play for the title. Those are the three teams that I would classify both as very good and entertaining.

Nobody is “great” this year, IMHO.

I still think Alabama is pretty damn good.

BSU just needs to go crawl into a hole and disappear.
They are not even close to a BCS calibur team if they don’t play cup cakes.
They can’t help the fact that VT willing laid down and gave them a win. Beamer must have made a deal with the devel to crap the bed early and then get it together for confrence play. I called it after week 1: VT would crap the bed early and then come clean house in the ACC. Maybe we will get another shot at them…
