Congrats Pack! Great defensive effort. Russell Wilson has lost all of the baseball rust. Haynes and Green did a nice job with the running game today. 4-0. Now go back to work and figure how to get number 5 next weekend!

    WOLF…………PACK

Great to hear!! Looking forward to next weekends game!! When will they announce the time next week??

  4. El Lobo Loco! 09/25/2010 at 3:14 PM #

D played well, and the Wolfpack was lucky that GT did not capitalize in all the mistakes and errors

4 and Oh is great anyway!

BTW and OT… the hokies blanked BostonC!!

This was a similar game to Cincy. We controlled the game throughout, and the D played well 80% of the time, but the defense had significant lapses in the 2nd half, and that kept GT in the game. That 3 play GT drive was a carbon copy of the 3Q Cincy drive–WAY too many missed tackles. Overall, great game by Wilson, minus the one terrible decision on the pick 6, and generally pretty good assignment football by the defense, minus the GT 4Q TD drive.

Our offense is going to be damn tough for anyone to stop. The kicking game needs work. The defense is playing well, but needs to focus for 60 minutes. We’re 4-0, played well, and the best part is we know there’s still room for improvement.

Wilson looked good. D looked good. Special teams (Kicking) still scary.

Also, thank goodness GT has a QB who couldn’t throw it in the ocean.

I tell ya folks. I was waiting like a little kid for this game all week. I was pumped and the Pack delivered. Celebrate til Monday…and on to VT. I applied logic for minimum wins this year as follows.

    4-0

    Should win the following…

    BC, ECU, Md, WF

    makes us 8-0

Hardest games left easiest to hardest…

    @UNC, VT, FSU, @ Clemson

If we can go .500 on he hard one, win the ones we should we are 10-0.

BUT, based on what I’ve seen, Clemsn is the biggest threat. Worst case should be 9-0. Not even gonna say whatthe best case scenario is.

Near the end of the game, a Wolfpack white shoe came flying out of a gang tackle by State. An omen?

  9. Wufpacker 09/25/2010 at 3:20 PM #

Whoa, nellie. Worst case is 9-0? I’ll have some of what you’re smoking coach.

This team is good, no doubt. But there are enough questionmarks that we could lay an egg against any of those teams.

Still say score was closer than it shoulda been. Make the CHIP SHOT field goals, take away a terible pick 6, and the score is 51-21.

HEY, does everyone here know what the icing on the cake is for he day???
    Say it…say it….

  11. tuckerdorm1983 09/25/2010 at 3:22 PM #

One game at a time. That is all. GT has no passing and our secondary pass defense is suspect. That won’t be the case anymore this year.

  12. coach13 09/25/2010 at 3:22 PM #

    meant 9-3

  13. coach13 09/25/2010 at 3:23 PM #

    Go Knights!!!

  14. Wufpacker 09/25/2010 at 3:26 PM #

Ahhh…yes that makes more sense, LOL.

    And yes, Go Knights!

Heels turn it over on downs

The VT game next weekend is going to be SO HUGE!

Wow that crowd is going to be intense!

  18. StateFans 09/25/2010 at 3:58 PM #

Yes. I expect Saturday’s crowd to be one of our best in years. Hope we’ve got a ton of recruits coming in!!

I for one will be there cheering as loud as I can. Great win for the Pack. Can’t wait for next week!

    Lots of obvious heroes today.

    Unsung heroes?

    #1. OL and DL depth
    #2. Audie Cole.

I’m sure most thought Audie played a good game, but he deserves even more credit for the tackles he did not make. By that, I mean instances where he ‘made the play’ by fighting off blocks and forcing the play inside to his teammates where they made the tackles. He made many great plays that won’t register a single stat.

Our kicking game is still our obvious weakness, but don’t forget it scored our first touchdown. So if we count those two missed field goals as -6, and the first TD as +7, we still came out at a +1.

This game just goes to show what a difference having a reliable quarterback makes. What a helluva win, GO PACK!!

  22. Scooter 09/25/2010 at 4:35 PM #

The more I think about it, the more I think that this is a game that we would have lost when Tech got within three in the 4th before. Amazing to see these guys stand their ground. Awesome win. I’m esctatic.

  23. Phang 09/25/2010 at 4:36 PM #

I didn’t know that song had any words other than “Go State”

  24. nav 09/25/2010 at 4:39 PM #

Go Cincy. That would be big for us if they win.

  25. tjfoose1 09/25/2010 at 4:40 PM #

“Near the end of the game, a Wolfpack white shoe came flying out of a gang tackle by State. An omen?”

I think that was a GT shoe… It was handed back to the GT back, who tossed it about 20 yards behind the line of scrimmage, then lined up and took the hand off, barefoot on one leg, for the last play of the game.
