Panthers sign Marcus Hudson

Great news for Wolfpack fans who like to follow former players in the NFL…

…former NC State defensive back, Marcus Hudson, has signed a contract with the Carolina Panthers. (Link)

Hudson, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound product of North Carolina State, joins the Panthers after playing four seasons for the San Francisco 49ers. He comes off a season in which he posted a career-high 24 special-teams tackles, bringing his career total over the last four years to 57.

The 27-year-old native of Miami, Fla. saw action in 48 games with San Francisco the last four seasons, playing primarily on special teams while also seeing action in the team’s nickel and dime packages.

Wolfpackers who are fans of the San Francisco 49ers won’t be too upset since they still get to follow Manny Lawson by the Bay.

I didn’t wear my panthers shirt all last season because of the whole delhomme fiasco. Now that they are man enough to admit their mistake I am back on their bandwagon. That’s awesome that Hudson is there now.

Hopefully Hudson can see the field a little more than he did with the 9ers. With Tank on the DL, that makes two former wolfpackers on the local team.

I usually like listening to The Packman but just the other day when this story broke they were bashing the Panthers for failing to make any rxtraordinary offseason moves, and in so doing they kept asking who Marcus was. Over and over again.I dont call sports radio shows but i was tempted to in that case just to say…”listen dingbats, he’s a local kid…ease up.” With Packer’s Pigskin work you’d think he would have known…and I guess maybe he did and was kidding. If so I missed the joke.
