Lo Brown is gonna be the real Deal.

What a great environment in that Ryan vid. It concerns me that I have seen nearly ALL of his highlight reels and I think I have seen him attempt to finish with his left hand once when there is contact made. Even on the left side of the rim he will turn his palm over to finish with the right hand. Hope it’s just the editing.

I’m thinking of posting some of my highlight vids as well. You should see my sick crossover.

Hopefully Sid can get W-L results out of these two. One thing is for sure: There will be plenty of Oh Sh*& moments watching these two at the RBC next year!

Too bad Harrow & Lo won’t have the opportunity to break Scheyer’s ankles.

they can’t get here soon enough!

javi/mays/degand already broke sheyer’s ankles.. not no for that.

Really looking forward to seeing those kids next year. Really hope CJL comes with them… that would be a serious talent infusion.

^Nice eye for talent there frankie. We should throw these two back and see what else we can get.

Lo Brown how are his grades this year? I have to place the blame on Sid and staff for not staying on top of this!

I have seen both play in person. IMO highlight reels are fun to watch but do not tell you a lot. Remember the carrot top high light reels?

    Both are extremely good.
Brown is big, strong and athletic. He would have made a difference on this team. He also has a nice shot and can create for himself.
Ryan “Urkle” Harrow (tell me he does not look like him) is super quick and not afraid to take it down low. Both games I have seen, his jump shot was off (though he does have good form) so he had to drive to get points. He took a beating doing that and IMO will get hurt in the ACC playing like that.

I am excited to see them play (assuming they get here) and hope they take us from the outhouse to the penthouse.

“Really looking forward to seeing those kids next year. Really hope CJL comes with them… that would be a serious talent infusion”

I have seen CJL play multiple times. He is uber talented but needs to stay focused. I thought the same thing about Wall but he stepped up to an increase in talent. CJL could easily do the same or could be another John Hensen.

Of all of the valid things about Sid that you can complain about, this isn’t one of them. How do you propose that a college coach force a high school kid to get his $#$! together?

  11. Thinkpack17 01/28/2010 at 1:50 PM #

“Lo Brown how are his grades this year? I have to place the blame on Sid and staff for not staying on top of this!”

To answer the first part he is supposed to be doing well, but if he fails to qualify a second time expect him to attempt to make the jump to the NBA/Europe. I hope you are being sarcastic with the second part.

“Remember the carrot top high light reels?”

That’s true! But we weren’t the only ones to bite on those. He got Pittsburg too, I liked Fergy though.

I’ve seen Brown play in person. True, he was playing for Hargrave against CC competition, but he was the best player on the court. Ultra smooth, didn’t look rattled, always seemed to be around the ball.

yeah, i don’t see how sid can be blamed in that situation. about the only thing i really “blame” him for is running such a high risk gamble with his pg recruiting… the result is the degand/javi mess we’re in. but he’s proven to me that he can even make an idiot better!

  14. Wolfy__79 01/28/2010 at 3:38 PM #

aside from the recruits coming in, and the improvements seen in howell.. how long do yawl figure we’ll have him?

  15. wolfpackattack89 01/28/2010 at 3:49 PM #

These two players will help us out a lot. But, with Sid at the helm I’m not so sure they will live up to their full potential. Sidney has ruined great players with lots of potential before ( Brandon Costner). You could even say Fells and Ben didn’t really live up to their full potential either. And yes, you can blame it all on chemistry, which was definitely a big reason that some of these players never lived up to their hype, but chemistry is a coach’s responsibility. I hope I’m wrong because Harrow and Brown look like something else! Go Pack!

Unless you would have been a sure fire from HS to the NBA type of talent at guard you are not a one and done. I think Harrow and Brown will be here atleast 3 years… Ty Lawson took 3 yrs to jump and he had a TON more fanfare and hype coming out of HS and while in college than either 2 of them will.

  17. Wolfy__79 01/28/2010 at 4:08 PM #

costner was costner’s problem, not sid. i was disappointed with courtney fells, but some of that fell on him too… with his ability he should have created more of his own offense, sid’s part would be not having a pg for him to work with … or IMO make him the point. oh well. mcCauley, he is just a blue collar guy.. he did what he was supposed to do, the rest of the team didn’t.. mainly b/c of costner IMO! i think sid is settled in with player development, even though the ship has been on fire since he got here and its still not out. to me, its more about keeping the talent in raleigh for a while aside from development… with the schedule of opponents in the ACC.. sometimes that works out on its on.

  18. Thinkpack17 01/28/2010 at 4:17 PM #

The good and the bad about Lo Brown is he already has an NBA body. So he stands to make the jump much quicker than Harrow, who will have to wait for his body to catch up with his game.

    Sid ruined Brandon Costner?

    That is a laugh.

Brandon Costner ruined Brandon Costner. The same offseason Sid got himself into shape, Brandon ate donuts and came in with the Ben MacCauley entitlement complex. No wonder Brandon had girl troubles. At least Gavin Grant thought he was great…

Fells was always up and down, under Herb and Sid. Nobody seemed to be able to reach that guy. He rarely gave more than a half, especially on the road.

yea i agree with you wolfy 79. I’m just bitter with it all. This is my third year at NCSU and all I’ve seen is a couple of big upsets in basketball that haven’t meant anything in the big picture and some carolina wins and a pizza bowl in football. it’s just depressing really

  21. wolfpackattack89 01/28/2010 at 4:59 PM #

I don’t know about that shooting guard, but it really doesn’t matter anymore

  22. 61Packer 01/28/2010 at 7:00 PM #

Just what NC State basketball needs- a talent infusion of yet more NBA wannabees like we just saw in those videos. Can these guys find the time to hit the 15-foot jumper, play tough defense, and play for the team instead of themselves?

These two, judging from what I saw, obviously believe that they can dunk their way to fame and fortune. Just give ’em the ball and get out of the way.

The worst thing of all is that this coaching staff, which couldn’t coach competitive jayvee ball, has bought into this mentality, and they are convinced that if only they can get better talent than the Dukes and the UNCs, we’ll return to our glory years again.

    We’re screwed.

  23. packfan03 01/28/2010 at 7:10 PM #

^NBA wannabees are totally overrated. Just ask Kentucky…

    You need a hug?

man, that looks awesome. Those defenders looked very much like ACC defenders… WTNY, amiritebro?

    *eye roll*
