Apologies – SFN @ UT vs UNC in Big D

Wanted to offer our community a quick apology for our lack of activity recently.

I have been traveling in Texas since Wednesday and attended today’s big win by the Longhorns over the Tarheels at Cowboys’ Stadium in Dallas. (Currently stuck at the airport thanks to all the global warming on the east coast) I think the rest of the author team has been pretty busy.

Now that we have message boards that are as vibrant and robust as our community of forums, I don’t feel quite as guilty for missing out on the blog as you can stay on top of everything with the Wolfpack there.

We’ll have more from Texas as well for the Wake Forest game soon.

    GOL DANGIT.

I demand constant updates no matter the circumstances. I mean I want updates from DFW airport pontificating on potential 5 star recruits and NC State tournament chances while your baby is throwing up on your keyboard. AND I WANT IT FOR FREE!!!

    Ha ha, just kiddding.

Why would anyone pay good money to see the Tar Heels play?

^^Conjuring up my best Ted Knight voice (a la “Caddyshack”)….

“YOU’LL GET NOTHING, AND LIKE IT!!!”

And regarding paying to see the Tar Heels play, I too wonder about that. Seems like a waste of a perfectly good Saturday afternoon, not to mention poor decision-making with regard to the spending of discretionary income.

Of course they did lose, which makes both of these previous points null and void. This is, of course, because ANY day the Tar Heels lose can’t be all bad. However, I still have to wonder about the decision to spend the money when you can watch them lose on TV; AND as a bonus hear (most of) the telecasters make excuses for them as they go down in flames.

Yep, it was a good day.

Seems to me just seeing that stadium would be pretty worth it, depending on how much they charge

    61Packer,

    Who said anything about paying?

Was lucky enough to be hosted in a suite by a group of fine Texas friends.

I would be willing to see the Holes play an outstanding Texas team in a Jerry-dome suite with free liquor and food.

Dessert would would be a thumping of UNX (102-90) with Roy trying to throw out 70,000 fans who were screaming at his boys.

All in all that would be a pretty good time.

    ^ Yes, I must agree.

Now that we have full disclosure (ie there was no financial expenditure, hosted in a suite at the new stadium, free food and booze) it becomes a no-brainer. In fact, not having to pay AND being hosted in those swanky conditions, with free food and booze to boot, AND getting to watch the evil blue horde lose big, makes that an EXCELLENT way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I stand corrected.

    True story.
Saturday night I’m at the tarkatz game.
While going down the escalator at halftime, I hear a tarhole talking to a guy wearing a Texas shirt behind me:
hole: “You guys are ranked #2 but you haven’t played anybody.”
Longhorn: “Your right, until this point in the season we still haven’t played anybody.”
