Rock Bottom.

It might be time to let Ari Gold buy out the NC State Athletic Department.

You're fired.

Do we play zone pass defense?

  2. Wulfpack 10/10/2009 at 7:06 PM #

Thaddeus Lewis played like Peyton Manning today. He tied the touchdown record for an opponent at Carter Finley with five. He was one shy of the completion record with 40. This, a player who is the quarterback for DUKE. Not for Florida State, or Miami, or Clemson, or Virginia Tech, or for Texas Tech, but for DUKE. DUKE.

Lewis was 40-50 for 462 yards. That’s a completion percentage of 80%. EIGHTY-PERCENT. He was 13-17 on third down. Put simply, Lewis had a career day, and State couldn’t get off the field to save their life.

Duke spanked NC State by 21 at home. The honeymoon, folks, is over. I don’t want to hear it. No excuses. We need answers, not excuses. If you want to offer an excuse for why Duke spanked us by 21 at home and for why our defense made Lewis look like Peyton Manning, direct it at someone else. I will not hear it.

The most pitiful performance EVER by a Wolfpack football team.

The Honeymoon is over. *grabs pitchfork and torch”

we may be down, but!!! I believe in the long term of TOB. Trust me folks this is his third year. First year hang on, second year try to recruit, third year actually recruit, fourth year play more redshirts. Year 5 is the time. Rome was not built in a day and TOB is a master builder. HAVE FAITH!!!

  6. rky 10/10/2009 at 7:11 PM #

Does this mean it is too late to still have that ‘special season’?

  7. tuckerdorm1983 10/10/2009 at 7:12 PM #

it is not the worst performance, forget it and move on.

  8. SidtheKid 10/10/2009 at 7:12 PM #

TOB called the team out after the Wake game and the team responded like stinkin piles of trash.

With 2 1-AA wins, they need to win 4 out of 6 just to get to a bowl game. The season of high expectations is going to not result in a bowl game most likely. TOB has lost all of his good will he gained in his first two years.

Kiss Russell Wilson goodbye too, if they are eliminated from a bowl with a couple games left I hope they turn it over to Glennon.

we loose to Duke …how pathetic….Chuck Amato never lost to Duke…it should be obvious to all TOB fans that he and his staff of minions are cashing in on a desperate college program….3 years and another mediocre season….ACC Title my ass ….we’ll be lucky to have a winning season…..it’s okay Tom…..just beat Carolina….that’s all that matters….F you TOB and company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I added another word between the “To” and “Duke”, but my exact comment after this game.

I have never been one for saying that “I could have done better than that” since I am smart enough to realize that I have zero experience in coaching an offense or defense, but it would have been VERY HARD to have called a game worse than that today vs. Duke.

  11. 1.21 Jigawatts 10/10/2009 at 7:19 PM #

We are without a doubt THE Worst team in the ACC.

  12. ncsufan13 10/10/2009 at 7:21 PM #

Haha, I never thought I would be looking forward to Basketball season.. At least we’ll win some ACC games then..

  13. BloggerEsquire 10/10/2009 at 7:21 PM #

No worries. Duke is a perennial contender for the ACC Championship, and Mike Krzyzewski would not let his team lose a conference game this early in the season. Sid and the team will bounce back next game.

    Wait. Football?

  14. wolfpacker 10/10/2009 at 7:22 PM #

It’s very close to the worst performance, but we actually scored points…We have only been shut-out at Carter Finley ONCE…but…I will bet very soon, it happens again…

  15. 44fan 10/10/2009 at 7:25 PM #

TOB said we were the best in the state last year, because we beat all the NC teams. So, I guess we are on the road to not only be the worse in the state, but worse in the ACC. Being a State fan is the hardest job I know!!!

  16. GAWolf 10/10/2009 at 7:27 PM #

Yeah… so that’s going to come back and bite him square in the ass. If we don’t beat Carolina… the worst Carolina team in decades… then I’m quitting, too.

  17. Wulfpack 10/10/2009 at 7:29 PM #

    Predictions:

    @BC: Loss
    @FSU: Loss
    Maryland: Toss up
    Clemson: Loss
    @VT: Sure Loss
    UNC: Toss up

Best case scenario is we go 2-4 which puts us as 5-7. That’s not getting it done, and that’s the best case scenario.

TOB may have done some pretty nice things at BC. But he left his mojo in Beantown. His results here are going from below average to bad quickly. There is no excuse for why we should be this bad 3 years into his tenure. None.

  18. JaxPackMan 10/10/2009 at 7:31 PM #

whiff..the sound of another missed tackle…

Does anybody know how to tackle?

Can you believe the only points in the 2nd half was the kick-off return?

How do you let 2 kicked balls hit you and then they turn into TD’s for the opposition?

Will somebody cover a receiver onetime. Please!!!

  19. GAWolf 10/10/2009 at 7:32 PM #

If you haven’t watched the linked video above… please do. It might help you start to laugh this one off.

  20. GAWolf 10/10/2009 at 7:36 PM #

Speaking of laughing this one off… I can’t wait to read how the good gentlemen over at Wolfpack Pigskin spin this one into a positive. Even those guys are going to find it tough to shove sunshine with this colossal debacle.

  21. wolfonthehill 10/10/2009 at 7:39 PM #

That performance is 100% scheme & coaching. I’m teetering off of the TOB bandwagon… in Year 3, this performance can’t happen.

Archer should honestly be fired… tomorrow. If that doesn’t happen, I lose respect for TOB.

And no – this is not an emotional, reactionary thing. I’ll say the same thing tomorrow – and Wednesday.

Honestly, zero progress since Chuck left. Zero. Unacceptable.

  22. highstick 10/10/2009 at 7:50 PM #

I’ve been very patient and am not ready to throw TOB out with the baby’s bath water, but we have had an athletic department problem for years that no one will address!

We know what the problem is and it’s called “ACCOUNTABILITY”. If TOB is having a coaching issue, it’s time for the Marine to kick in with the “Semper Fi, Do or Die”! Same goes for the players! Don’t pamper any of them and don’t make excuses!

I’m confused how this team showed as much promise as they did early on and now seems to have gone to the proverbial hell and a handbasket! I didn’t see the game, so somebody please explain! Are we getting outcoached or outperformed?? Has everyone figured out if they stop Russell Wilson, they’ve stopped the team??

  23. NCcoastalwolf 10/10/2009 at 7:51 PM #

Well wolfpack fan its amazing how we always seem to steal carolina’s negative thunder. We been calling for Lowe’s head in year 3 What about Obrien’s

  24. Wulfpack 10/10/2009 at 7:58 PM #

Highstick: we didn’t stop Duke all day long. RW had a great first half, a poor second half, but he would have had to throw TD passes every possession for us to keep up with what Duke was doing offensively. That’s no wya to play a football game, much less TOB style. That’s the problem — the defense. Secondary is horrendous. Linebackers out of position and can’t tackle. D line not getting hardly any pressure on the QB. It effects the entire morale of the team.

  25. wolfonthehill 10/10/2009 at 8:01 PM #

And I do have to say that I was VERY disappointed to see some players keep getting PT after making catastrophic mistakes both last week & tonight. Not the kind of high-accountability program that TOB advertises.

Some guys, who shall remain nameless since they’re college athletes and not professionals, should not set foot on the field again… and would be put on waivers in Chief Butch’s program.
