Good Russell Wilson interview

Russell warming up

850TheBuzz has a good interview with Russell Wilson that you will enjoy. (Link to interview) I never stop being impressed by this young man.

The latter part of the interview discusses Russell’s passion for baseball as well as football. However, there doesn’t seem to be any legitimate likelihood of Andrew Jones’ dream of Wilson giving up football (to make Carolina’s life easier) becoming a reality.

Speaking of specializing, the Wilmington Star News couldn’t have picked better timing than to run this article about the topic on their website last night. The article contains as much ‘meat’ on the topic as is possible, rising above the usual five or six obligatory paragraphs that we normally see on the topic.

“The Lord put a talent in my life,” Wilson said, “and I wanted to go someplace that would allow me to use it to its fullest extent.”

Unlike most of the other schools that recruited the Richmond, Va., native out of high school, State didn’t force him to choose between his two athletic loves – football and baseball.

That, as it turned out, made all the difference in the world to a multi-talented star with designs on playing both at the next level.

Two years later, Wilson is well on his way toward continuing a Wolfpack tradition of successful two-sport athletes.

While you have Russell Wilson on your mind, you can click here to see previous entries that we have ‘tagged’ with Russell Wilson for you to peruse. Obviously, there have been some super features focused on the young man that have been printed by the media in the past.

It is going to take a borderline miracle to get you guys (baseball team) into the ACC Tournament

Hey BJD95. What ever you send out to the universe is what you get back. This is metaphysical not new age. We can expect TOB to stay and build us into a football factory. Sometimes it only takes one person to be in the right place at the right time and TOB be is the person NC STATE is the place and the time is now. GO Wolfpack!!!!!!! Owwwwwwwwwwwweeeee!!!!

Zen, Great call on the Meta v. New Age. Maybe we can get 50,000+ to send out the ‘beat-a-cock’ vibe on opening night?

BJD, I think you left out one component in your formula, quality depth.

TOB is the man. He is doing it right. I know he is not a spring chicken, but what gives people the idea, especially with Jo Pa and Bobby Bo out there, that TOB is only going to stick around through the end of his current contract (2012)? I understand that there are some folks here who talk to some of the staff, but I do too, and I have never gotten that impression, let alone some sort of time line for TOB’s retirement.

I wholly expect that TOB will need a contract extension, one way or another, before 2012, in order to continue recruiting at a high level.

I do believe that there is a reshuffling, of sorts, going on in the ACC. There is an opportunity to rise to the top of a resurgent conference. FSU and Miami are as down as they have been in a long, long time. Wake and Clemson are very human. BC is officially off the perch this year (mark those words). Maryland and Virginia are not scaring anyone. GT is running a gimmick Offense that will be figured out by the other coaching staffs in this league within the next two years (by pulling out game tapes from the 1960’s). Duke is Duke. Butch will leave Carolina before they run him off, probably for a bigger paycheck, and just before a real program evaluation begins. VT will be good as long as Beamer stays. Period. These are just opinions. but, I do believe that there is an opportunity to take the national stage by storm. You only have to start winning for your University to begin turning into a factory.

I’m jacked up for the start of the season! Go State!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
