No Vaseline Baby

I’m too old to gloat over a football game, but this is just too good to miss.

You need to listen to The Weekend in Sounds and Ruth in Holly Springs on 850thebuzz.
(Warning: language may offend some.)

I have some family members (wife’s side) that might be getting this in their Christmas card:

I miss Terry Tate. The Pain Train was the name of my only league-winning fantasy football team.

I like how Bomani admits he hasn’t watched a wolfpack game yet this season even tho I remember him ripping our OL last week on his show

^O-Line has been fantastic over the last few weeks and this can’t be brought up enough …

Russell sometimes has all day to look for his reads and THEN decide to run if it’s best … That makes a ton of difference … Great job O line!

Great pic VaWolf. I also found it interesting that Chuck found time to infiltrate the crowd before his FSU game and witness how it’s really done.

( see over shoulder right )

    Beez:
I assumed she was referring to the Civil Rights movement, but she may have been referring to her first marriage.

The pain they must feel in Chapel Hill! Christmas came early this year for State fans! It’s just amazing how they discount our domination! Guess there football team just doesn’t have the “will to win”?

    Packbacker, Beez:

I’m not defending Butch Davis by any means, but how is it that the unc vs NC State FOOTBALL game is STILL considered such a HUGE rivalry around here, causing a coach like BD to beoome the brunt of jokes and to get raked over hot coals by some in the media for losing that game? But yet, when some NC State BB coach continually loses to unc, and loses, and then loses again, the harshest criticism that comes for that same BB coach at NC State, is in the form of calling him something like “a Class Act”?

The reasons are twofold, first off, some folks in the media must think that a guy like BD can take the ribbing and criticism for what it truly is, and then they also probably believe that BD as a coach, has the ability to do better than he currently is. I don’t believe the local media could EVER say that was true for a former NCSU BB coach.

I’m hoping not too far into the future, that the media will jump all over Sidney Lowe when he suffers an unexpected loss at the hands of an in-state rival, because when the media handles a coach with nothing but kid gloves, the underlying meaning is that they don’t really respect, or expect, much out of that coach at all. And neither should his players, or the fans of that particular program.

I don’t hear Bomani Jones where I live, but listening to that Ruth in Holly Springs clip made me think one thing: That’s a man disguising his voice as a woman. Is this a joke character that Jones does? I find the notion that a woman who was old enough in the 60s to take a beating and can make Ice Cube references today hard to believe.
