Perfect timing! Pack baseball!

For all those who love to get out and get you some NC State sports in person, here’s the spot this weekend. It will hopefully afford anyone a chance to relax, take in some good competition and escape from the drama that hangs over the two big brothers of revenue sports.

There is some real excitement sorrounding the program as they look to make a deeper push into the NCAA postseason later this spring. Some key contributers are back and looking to use their experience to help guide alot of fresh faces to the scene, sixteen to be exact. The interesting part is that the program may have never ushered in such a bounty of talent in one year. Couple that with the fact that we have never had an Asst. like Holliday who has a proven track record of delivering on promise.

    Ah. Baseball… 🙂

Excellent timing their, vtpackfan! Here’s a link to an earlier entry for those interested in draft results, including some of the freshmen. vtpackfan also has excellent comments in this entry about some of the incoming players.

    Doc
The four or five players added after your wrap up includes:

OF Brian Bello, a juco all american and cousin of MLB C Mike Rabelo.

OF Drew Paulk, former starter for UNC freshman year, Dallas’cousin.

SS Kyle Wilson, chosen by Cubs in round 31.

Yeah… I got very lazy and forgot to update my table. 🙂

I should probably get around to that at some point. I do like that Wilson was drafted by the Cubs. Tom Williken (sp?) is running their drafts now and he is exceptionally keen at identifying middle infield talent.

anybody see any of the scrimmages this weekend? wonder what you thought–any missing pieces–any surprises–where do you think the weak point will be? how about the strength?
