Share Your Game Photos (and Video) on StateFans Nation!

By Wolfpack fans, for Wolfpack fans: Share your views of the game with everyone who comes to the site!

baker-scores-small.jpgWe’re pleased to announce that Statefans Nation will be adding a fan’s photo and video gallery where you can upload and share your game experiences with the large audience that comes and visits the site.  The best of them will be featured, both in an article highlighting the editors’ and the readers’  favorites, and also in future articles.  We’re doing this in order to share the game experience with those who cannot make it to Carter-Finley. The RBC Center or out on the road on game day, as well as to give you the chance to share your photos and digital videos with your fellow NC State fans.

What do we want?

  • Simple.  Good pictures of the action, perhaps some tailgating and/or post-game shots.
  • Photos of NCSU history that you’ve taken or that you know is in the public domain.
  • Scenes on and around campus from now and back then.
  • Anything that you want to share that has the NC State experience.

What do we not want? (And won’t allow!)

  • The original work must belong to you.  Nothing copyrighted. Don’t post stuff you download from other web sites.
  • This is a family site, not the Wolf Web, so good taste is required.
  • We don’t want to see lewd, drunk or embarrassing shots.
  • In short, use the “Grandma” test — would you show the picture to your grandmother?  If you wouldn’t, it won’t fit in here and will be deleted.

How do I get involved?

Be aware: this is still very much under construction!!!

You will need to create a new account and password, as the software that runs the Media pages is completely separate from the main blog.  I realize that this may be a tad inconvenient, but it is the simplest way to create and operate the site from an administration and operational standpoint.  Once you do that, you are free to create albums and post your pictures and/or digital movies.  You can also check out what everyone else has done, and we hope over time the Gallery becomes a great source of reminiscing and history for us all to browse through.

Try it out!

FAQ (under construction)

Q:  Do I still have copyright to my stuff?
A:  Yes, it’s still yours but by uploading you agree to let other views your work and to allow us use it on this site in our articles.

Q: What kind of files do you want?
A: JPEG files for photos, SWF, WMV or Quicktime files for video.

Q: Can I upload broadcast games I’ve saved on my computer?
A: NO.  That’s a copyright violation.  Remember the phrase “this game may not be rebroadcast” that is said at one point in every game on TV?  That means no, not yours.

Q: What about clips – like a long touchdown run?
A: Very short clips are probably within Fair Use and are okay.

I created an account and logged in but I don’t seem to see where you can create your own album. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great!

I’d say Nashville, that’s where most people go for that type of stuff.
