really excited about the game Thursday, we have a bit of a surprise for the gamecocks it seems. However on a basketball tip Marques Johnson has decided to transfer to georgia state. This now opens another scholarship for the 09 season. Nail down another top recruit and we’re golden Lowe…go get em!

The saran wrap comment was speculative of this years line. My tin foil comment was in regards to the past few years, based on empirical data.

DB, The tin foil, saran wrap comments aside, your “I actually believe this is our best offensive line since 2004” post is spot on, the OL will be much improved this season, if only based upon experience. We have a good returning nucleus, 1.5 years experience in the system, more depth, and the best OL coaches in the league bar none. We saw dramatic improvement from game one to game ten last season. Injuries, lack of depth, and a long season caught up with us in the Wake game and we did not recover in the Maryland game. Still Eugene had a good year behind this line once he assumed the starting role. Look for this line to be a much improved version of what we saw from the EZU game to the first half of the WFU game.

And now we have 3 good backs, even without Baker, and a mobile Quarterback. Still, I would not look for the option too much, it is not in the O’Brien, Bible vocabulary. We are being severely underestimated on the offensive side of the ball, and I like being in that position. It is the defense that concerns me a little.

It’s gonna be really interesting to see what kind of wrinkles Wilson’s abilities put in the offense. I mean, TOB hasn’t ever been known for trick plays, has he? With a speedy QB that also has a rocket launcher attatched to his shoulder, you could conceivably put Evans under center and run a rush, HB pass, reverse….the possibilities boggle the mind. Go get ’em R.W.!!

I just hope we get to see a really pissed off (or confused) Spurrier on Thursday.)

“If he turns out to be the leader Barnette was, we should count ourselves lucky.”

If we could land (or develop) a wideout like Torry Holt to go along with it……look out.

Wufpaxno: Obrien/Bible never had a mobile QB either. I would hope that we have some tricks up our sleeve. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some option plays and some spread sets. However, I don’t know how feasible it would be to incorporate some spread/option plays into a pro-style offense. I haven’t heard any rumors of a spread offense but TOB did say, “our system is designed around RW’s talents” What that means, we will find out Thursday night!

Also, let’s not get unrealistic, RW is no Michael Vick or Pat White. He’s quick, but 4.55 speed is alot different then 4.3/4.4 speed (Vick/White). Still, he is quick and I think must of us are just looking for him to scramble and get sacked less, not rush for 100 yards…

I have a lot less questions about our linebackers after meeting Nate Irving – He seems to have the physical tools to excel at LB.

Otis – did you happen to see him smile? I pass him all the time on campus and he looks like one pissed off dude all the time. Even in the one or maybe two pic’s he’s in for the Meet the Pack Day, he has the same scowl on. Gotta love that mentality….
