Alabama players driving Escalades?

— Defensive coordinator Vic Koenning (Clemson) raised some eyebrows when asked a general question about Alabama receiver Julio Jones. Koenning has a lot of ties in south Alabama, and that’s where Jones is from.

Koenning’s response:

“I actually ran into Julio in the spring recruiting. I said hello to him. I said, ‘Well, I guess I’ll be seeing you at the end of August.’ And then he got out and got in his Escalade and drove off. That’s serious. And then I went over and watched (Alabama freshman) Burton Scott at Vigor High School at the track over there, and Burton Scott was running around. He went and got in his Escalade out at track practice and drove off. So I’m familiar with those two guys.”

Wow. Ouch. Wow.

Think that might cause a stir in Tuscaloosa?

Lets just hope Clemson shows up on Saturday. I won’t be able to live in Atlanta anymore if I have to hear all the SEC fans telling me how a middle of the road SEC team beat the ACC’s top team. Of course, we can help out by beat the Cocks on Thurs.

Thanks for this tidbit! Please, please Clemson, beat Bama. Man, you think crapolina fans are arrogant, come to Alabama.
In other Alabama news – Coke is doing a promotion with cut out figures of Tommy “the lying snake” Tubberville, Saban & Houston Nutt. Because Saban is so much shorter then the other two, especially Tubberville, they made everyone short.

did my comment get trashed? or is there something wrong with my computer?
I truly hope Clempson can whip up on Bama. You’d think from hearing them talk that Bama has won the last 4 national championships, and the last 7 Iron Bowls (they’ve lost 6 of them). If you think crapolina fans are arrogant, come down here.

As to the Escalades, of course the Bama players drive them, they are ENTITLED to them see? They are Alabama.

On a lighter note, Coke is doing a promotion around here with cut outs of Houston Nutt, Tubberville and Saban. Coke made everyone the same short size as Saban so Tubberville wouldn’t tower over him in grocery stores through out Alabama. 🙂 Here is the link.

I expect the ACC to be 0-2 versus the SEC and 0-1 versus the Pack 10 by this time next week! Escalades, houses, the ACC just can’t compete.

I had the unfortunate chance to have a trash-talking exchange with an Alabama fan and quickly realized that he could have easily donned the baby blue and would fit right in. With a storied past and such “promise” for the future, they don’t even have to be good in the present to be arrogant jerks.

    Agreed PIR.

Since we are on the topic of football recruiting and before I forget it. Sanderson High School in Raleigh may have one of the best field goal kickers in the nation this year. Zach Powell. He kicked a 47 year field goal in the game against Clatyon High School last Friday.

If any of you RawLEE natives need something to do, you may want to go check him out one Friday night wearing you NCSU digs.

Escalade…. I laugh at the folks that can afford them and still pick that to drive. If your going to drive a vehicle like that at a minimum please pick any color other than pearl white eggshell. Geez…

Primacyone: I saw the Sanderson game last Friday. Is that the same kicker from last year?

Its not just a question of how these undergrads get a $50K car, its how on earth do they pay for the gas!!! Although, gas here in Alabama is relatively cheap. 3.41 a gallon – at least this morning. I need to fill up before the price spike thanks to hurricane Gustav.

Daily Update: Zach is new kicker for Sanderson this year and he is just a sophmore.

Bama is only middle-of-the-road because they’re in the stacked SEC. Many are choosing them as the dark horse to win the SEC West. I wouldn’t be suprised if they break into the top 10 nationally at some point this year.

Probably a lot of dealers looking to get Escalades off the lot.

I’m sure the Escalades are rentals, of course with an open ended return date and 10,000 mile free gas special from an unadvertised promotion these young men were lucky to win. See Martin, Tee.

I guess the “GM employee discount” is better than I thought.

    Bama is Good and BAD.
    i’m taking the UNDER.
    the SEC is:

The SEC takes football more seriously than any other conference takes any Sport, by a mile.
