Good sources… James Madison rounds out the field.

The game 1 matchup with James Madison looks reasonable. Madison does have a pair of thumpers in Brett Sellers (.414/16/52) and Steven Caseres (.349/21/68) but not the up and down power throughout the lineup that scares the snot out of me. I have no clue who they will throw at us on the mound. Turner Phelps is 7-0 with a 3.80 ERA but only started 4 games in 19 appearances. Among their weekend starters (going by # of starts) I don’t really see a strikeout artist (among IP qualifiers, Phelps is the only pitcher with more than 1 K/IP).

Of course this is all well and good, but I hope Avent spends the next ‘X’ days convincing the team that James Madison is the second coming of Miami and we need revenge…

Need to cite my stat source…

i like this, we travel to South Carolina last year, now they get to come to us, will be a good game should we face them. Charlotte is no pushover, though, wouldn’t be surprised to see them put up a fight against South Carolina on day one

I would not count out James MAdison. They ran the table in the CAA tourney going 4-0.

I like it. South Carolina may have the best infield in college (3 guys who could potentially be 1st and 2nd rounders), but the pitching has only been OK this season.

They do not have any true stud starters & I do not believe they have a true closer either.

Anybody got a schedule? I may be going up next Sunday and will go earlier if I can catch a game.

This is a nice field. UNCC ousted us last year, makes for an element of revenge. Ray Tanner finally gets to see NC State Host a regional at Doak. And James Madison has been on a roll as of late.
