If I remember right from the World Baseball Classic, PR and Venenzuela have no love loss between them. Great chance for one of my three keys to the game to be helped by Javi being psyched-up more to play then ever to get the better of Vasquez.

    1) PG play; specifically at the end of halfs. Being the floor generals and making big plays to lift their teams when it seems the game is teetering in the balance. Isn’t this the definition of PG play?

    2) For God Sake’s, McAuley and Hickson should abuse Osby and Gist until Williams freezes on the sideline in his famous “arched back frenzy”. Gist is a talent with very poor decision skills. Osby makes heady (is their more brain material in that afro?) plays, is physical, but has little talent vs. the best ACC big men. JJ and Big Ben just need to combine the two aspecst of the game better then their opponents. Nuff said.

    3) Sid needs a T. The Maryland fans are all Klopek’s and Williams is the best grand stander their is. We don’t have the offensive weapons, unless GG, Fells, and Horner rain three’s, to keep ’em nervous in that whack joint. A first half T ought to go a long way to tell everyone in the building that we came College Prison for raw tortoise. Go Pack!

So far, so good today. VT lost. Clemson looses tomorrow. Win tonight, we control our own destiny. Stay tuned, we could finish third.

Pivotal game tonight. Bubble watch city.

Good luck Pack! Take it to the Terps!

Anyone in Ithaca, NY going to Benchwarmers to watch? Otherwise, I’ll be clicking refresh on Yahoo!.

Interior defense and outside shooting win the game for us tonight.

    Go Pack!

    The key to the game.

Fells MUST be on tonight. Maryland doesn’t have one of the best 2 pt FG % defense in the nation for nothing. Well, maybe not fells, but SOMEONE has to be hot from the 3, whether it be Javi, grant, whoever…

Otherwise. Javi should punk Vasquez… hopefully in his native tongue.

    vtpackfan,

Gist is good inside and outside, and Osby is a powerful, hardworking junk man around the basket. That said, Hickson and McCauley need to come out VERY PHYSICAL from the gitgo and then play smarter than the Terp’s bigs as the game goes on. The Pack can win the battle inside but we can’t afford to take any time off on defense. Offensive rebounding will be a big factor.

The Gonzales/Vasquez matchup will be very interesting for sure. I have to give the nod to Vasquez in the beginning but I think this game may be the one that really fuels Javi’s competitive fire. I think the freshman is going to turn into a player, I just hope he’s not wound up too tight for tonight’s game.

Maryland is 1-4 in the conference this season at College Park.

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PACK!!!

    GOPACK!

  12. Trip 02/09/2008 at 8:02 PM #

Wow, Osby’s fro is a thing of awesomeness. It’s… beautiful.

Now stomp it in the ground, Hickson.

This game will hinge on NCSU’s early intensity. Maryland will out muscle and out tough the Pack if we come out playing passively.

  14. redfred2 02/09/2008 at 8:07 PM #

    I LOVE GG!

  15. terry gannon 02/09/2008 at 8:08 PM #

  18. terry gannon 02/09/2008 at 8:10 PM #

Man, it’s been a while since I’ve seen the yellow uni’s on the Terps. Reminds me of the 80s with Adrian Branch.

  19. redfred2 02/09/2008 at 8:11 PM #

If anyone ever needed a point guard, our #2 cannot even come close to running the offense.

  20. redfred2 02/09/2008 at 8:13 PM #

    BOOM!!! JJ

  21. Trip 02/09/2008 at 8:15 PM #

Sick move by JJ, Johnson really needs to assert himself. He can’t be THAT bad.

  22. redfred2 02/09/2008 at 8:17 PM #

    Good move Costner. Keep trying.

  23. redfred2 02/09/2008 at 8:18 PM #
