State UNC game thread
Since I started the game threads we are 3-0. Since I am obviously the reason we keep winning I will keep doing the game thread. Ironically I will not be watching the game or able to join the game thread as my wife committed me to attend her nephew’s daughter’s baptism. Sigh. That means someone else will need to carry on the nickname “Buckets” and start the new one “Player X”.
I have no idea how this game will go. They will be playing “small ball” and we will be looking to score in the paint. Whichever team is able to force their will on the other will win. We should be more consistent as we will not be relying on the three, so if UNC gets hot we need to minimize the damage and keep our heads. This will be a close but high scoring game. I think we win it 87-83.

So we blew up the original Death Star (finally beating Roy and the Holes in Raleigh again), now we need to blow up the new Death Star that is operational way ahead of schedule (beating UNx under Emperor Roy in Chapel Hole).
We need a Wedge and a Lando to infiltrate the Death Star once Han & co. get the shield down … wonder who will fit those roles?
Sorry, I’m having a nerd-gasm here with Star Wars and State basketball.
I’ve been inundated with attacks from a Wal-Mart fan on my Facebook page. He’s rather hilarious, attacking NC State when he couldn’t get into UNC (by his own indirect admission) and proclaiming them irrelevant. It’s typical and pitiful all the same.
The best part was when he tried to cut down the education at NCSU because my phone’s autocorrect misspelled a word for me in our back and forth. His riposte was a run-on sentence with seven grammatical errors. I kindly pointed them out to him and told him that it was apparent why his application to Chapel Hill was turned down.
Wonder what color plaid tie “Dark Helmet” will be wearing.
Seriously, unless we lose our minds or the refs “Swoff up” there is no reason MacADonut and Hairyston stay out of foul trouble I’m the first half. Heels best defense may be don’t foul and see if we”ll miss a dozen bunny shots like we did in Cameron.
I think we win or lose on rebounding.
That being said, I’d love to see Woo go all CC Harrison on their asses.
Just win, I don’t really care how or by how much.
And I’d love to see “Player X” come in at some point and level McAdon’t with a nice “down under” forearm shiver.
I just want everyone affiliated with UNX to be afflicted with rotavirus and suffer all the indignity and misery that this cruel world can possibly heap on anyone.

Anybody out there watching WF v Miami? Or should I say WF Whuppin’ up on Jim’s boys. I thought this was a fluke at halftime….but with less thn 4 minutes to go, ole Lady Mo (a very flirtatious and fickle sort) seems to be going with the home crowd. The body language of the Green bench says it all….

Couldn’t get to sleep last night. Started reading my wife’s copy of Skywalker or the DT story. Wish Gottfried had asked him to do the pre-game pep talk….or made the team read the book….
Refs. My biggest concern. How much will they insert themselves. The only saving grace for the holes today.

Miami completely sh!t the bed and lost to WF 80-65
I knew they had to lose sooner or later, but WTF?
Miami had been living on the edge, and today they collapsed. Interesting to see how they react.
I like our chances today, and will assume that a loss must be my fault (had bad mojo in general lately). My conditional apologies in advance.
We do get ESPN’s best announcing tandem (O’Brien and Burke), so at least there’s that. At least no shrieking will be involved (other than my own anguish, possibly).
Miami was bound to lose at some point. I expect another L at Cameron next weekend. They will still likely be the #1 seed heading into Greensboro, not that it matters.
I have a couple of Deac fans, and they are already despondent that Bzzz returns another year. He beat us and now Miami. Ok. Great. He was, and remains, a bad hire.
I am this queasy feeling like I just ate a couple of hot dogs and things deep fat fried at the State Fair and I am getting ready to get on the roller coaster. I hope at the end I don’t puke. WE OWE THEM FOR THE NO CALL LAST YEAR IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT AT THE END OF THE GAME. I HOPE WE GET TO PAY THEM IN FULL FOR THAT

Yes, I would be despondent if my team was tying itself to Coach Consonant for another year. I think Miami likely has to beat Duke again or win the ACCT to keep a 1 seed.
A win today almost guarantees we get no worse than a 6 seed. That’s my primary goal for this team. Everything else is gravy.
Desc fans acknowledge they follow basketball? I thought they just hung up their diploma and starting following Swiss sports.
For some reason I have a VERY bad feeling about today’s game, like worst loss of the year bad. Hope I’m dead wrong, ready to pull hard and scream my support.
