Thanks for posting this! I went to Summerville High School, so it means a lot to me and South Carolinians that ESPN took time to tell this story. Of course, fans of Spartanburg aren’t happy, but clearly there’s more to it than just the outcome of the state championship. Very touching.

Wow, very powerful video. I had to admit I thought, wait, it can’t end like that…
    Thanks SFN for posting it.

I actually saw this last week sometime on ESPN while just walking through the room. I had to stop and I stood there for the whole segment and for some reason (probably the humidity) I got a little misty.

I couldn’t believe the ending. Great story and I like the way they put the piece together, because I didn’t know the story and I thought they lost there for a second.

    Great Post.

Unrelated post, but it’s looking like Vinny Del Negro may end up an NBA Head Coach himself

Great story. Good job by the referees. That was the correct call.

    Thanks for linking that story.

Kinda makes me wonder why I’m still here, and someone like that is no longer.

    Short lifetime, H…U…G…E impact.

    Great story, THANKS!

That sure brought home, again, how one man can effect the lives of so many. I drove by the site of that fire Memorial Day, they’d like to make it a park. I hope they do. Maybe its age, but these kind of tragedies only get harder for me to take.

Same here Beez. The video shuck me up the first time I watched it, but when I called my daughters in and showed it to them, it was about all I could do to keep my composure long enough to answer their questions.

Great, amazing story. I was a little kid when we lived in Summerville and football is king down there. I remember watching the Green Wave on Friday nights and the hoops team struggle. For that team to come together under those circumstances is one for the ages.
