I’m really glad PR can finally get the notice he deserves. Right after PR was signed to San Deigo I had a business meeting with some poeple from the SD area. I told them PR will be everything you hope and more. Good to see I was right. Wonder if the Giants are having second thoughts about the trade?
I am loving this. Proof that good guys DO win sometimes.
Ol’ No. 17 has turned me into a mild NFL fan after ten years of completely ignoring the league.
Minor kvetch: doesn’t look like Philip. It looks like some movie star quiche boy playing Philip
I think the cover artists were a little liberal with the airbrush! But way to go Philip!
Good on him. There are many sports radio and internet “experts” eating big time crow since his draft.
Eli who?
Rivers…. the upcoming Hall of Famer…
‘Young Philip Rivers, once high school football phenom, the All-American kid next door, who latter went on to stardom while shattering collegiate records left and right. But, how many young girl’s hearts were broken and live’s shattered along his path to greatness?’
I agree, the airbrushing is way overboard. It makes him look the cover boy for a cheap dime store novel.
But seriously, everyone in sports media has reserved their praise for Philip Rivers so far because they can’t quite put a finger on any particular aspect of what makes him so good.
I’d sum it to say that he sees everything happening around him as well as any of the all-time greats, and that the guy is just a winner, with a capital W. And that’s the name of that tune.
How can you not love a guy who still plays the game as a pro the same way 8 year olds get fired up playing rec league. All smiles, all excitement, all the time. I hope I have a son that grows up like Philip Rivers… even if minus the football ability.
yea thats pimp
Chargers have all the tools to go all the way.
