Thanks, and I have and will continue to tell others about the best NCSU blog going!
I found this blog on a link from another blog and just wanted to say that this place is awesome. Thank you for all of these articles and for such a great site!
Duke struggles for the win, the “Golden Opportunity” is still in our grasp!
Ouch! Tough First Half.
I think we are witnessing the final days, rejoice in this loss as it leads to a much brighter future.
I don’t think that in the history of sports there has ever been a more total disappearance/destruction of a top 20 team at the end of the season. This season is truly one for the books. If Mr. Sendeck is a man of honor, he should consider resigning today and announce it tonight. Then, I would have respect for the man. How does he cash his paychecks without feeling tremendous guilt? The looks on our players faces today says it all. From what I hear, at least one of them is ready to come forwardat the end of this season and disclose what is apparent to all: Even they do not like Herb and apparently loathe him and his “coaching.”
Finally, even if we are granted a bid to the NCAA tournament, I think that we should refuse it. We do not deserve it. Show some honor and let a much more deserving team have a chance at what we could care less about.
This is starting to remind me of the UNC-CH game in Charlotte followed by the loss at ECU.
The lack of intensity by state is just pathetic. They never seem to be prepared to play a complete game and that has to be coaching
NCSU is not playing its best game, but this game is meaningless. Just wait until the NCAA tournament before complaining. Just remember that a lot of teams would be happy just to be in the second round, like Clemson.
Losing 4 games in a row is not meaningless to me and most other State fans that I know
Well there it is, folks. I’m telling you, anyone who expects Herb to leave or be forced out are going to be disappointed again.
As I said before, we have become VCU with a football team.
While I respect you for laying your “dream” prediction on the line for the ACC T, today’s results reveal what a pipedream it was.
What will be the new line of Sendek defense to come forth from the HSSS spinmiesters now?
william, are you serious?
Que the “laid the golden egg” article in 5…4…3…2…1…
Anyone who thinks losing 4 games in a row is meaningless obviously does not understand the big MO
I think Victim may well be right. I’ve become convinced that there must be some kind of major dissension on this team that has not been reported.
Here they had a perfect chance to prove all the nay-sayers wrong, and couldn’t even mount a respectable effort. That says to me that the players are neither thinking nor performing as a team.
William, that’s a fine defensive mechanism you have going there. You can rationalize away hurt w/ the best of them. ACC tourney first round loss to the worst team in the conf has a great deal of meaning William. You’ll read about it here, and in the newspapers, for years to come. Curious if your postings from a month ago called the ACC Tourney meaningless.
Don’t we feel like this at the end of every season? But we can expect no great actions to be taken by this administration. Let face it, Herb will not be fired. If we have a new coach next year, it will be b/c Sendek resigned.
Let’s all look forward to another lackluster season next year, maybe make progress and beat Duke or UNC 1 out of 4 times.
william, you are a joke. You are either a relative of Sendek, or just a poor excuse of a State fan. You are correct in that the game was meaningless, but it was only meaningless to the players and joke of a coaching staff.
I am at the tourny…gotta say I have defended herb before but its done. need to try something else.
We all know that Sendek won’t be fired, by the even-bigger joke Lee Fowler.
I chose not to go to the ACCT for the first time in forever…The best decision I have made this week!!
Don’t worry. If Sendek doesn’t leave or get fired this year, he will next year—because next year we won’t be good enough in the early season to have a late season swoon…we’ll just suck ala Wake and GT and VT the whole year long!!
Herb’s only job if he is retained is to make sure Chris Wright signs in November, hopefully pick up a couple more quality guys, and keep the rest of the guys from transferring so CoachNewCoach (hopefully Barnes or Calipari or Nate McMillan) can start off with a great pg, a solid nucleus, and a united fanbase to breathe fresh air into a program that has climbed out of obscurity only to plateau in medicrity…
This gives a whole new meaning to WTNY!!!!!
Pitiful, just pitiful. As much as I think Sendek needs to go, all the blame cannot be laid at his feet for the recent performance of the Pack. Losing to a team like Wake freakin’ twice in one week is more than just bad coaching (though that certainly helps). These guys need to look at themselves and ask the question: “Do we want to even play in the NCAAT?” If not, then they certainly are accomplishing their goal.
You’d think that losing two in a row at home (and getting waxed by UNC), and then losing to the last-place team, would make these guys hungry to prove their worth. No such luck…
Looks to me like the team has had its fill of Herb, too. What a shame for a good bunch of guys. It’s really too bad for the seniors who’ve put up with it for 4 years and had a shot for a decent post-season.
Anybody else heard that Brackman will focus on baseball next year and eschew the basketball program?
