Now the HSSS’ers are hell bent on comparisons to a loosing football program in order make a point about how good HERB was.

You know I can remember the last time we won the ACC, 1979, my senior year. Now I’m 48 years old and have one of my own sons that’s an upper classman at State.
    1) Amato has 3 years left on his contract and I’m sure his assistants have at least one year on theirs. They will all get paid to leave. In fact they will get paid big bucks to leave. They won’t starve. There will be Christmas presents under their tree on the 25th.
    2) These guys all have education and experience that will land them on a new staff before the first snowfall.
    3) These guys have all been around the block a few times and they chose this field. They know its harsh realities. Win or move on. That’s the reason the jobs pay better than normal. In fact in that regard NCSU has been more than kind compared to their contemporaries.
    4) The way free enterprise works is that you produce or you get replaced through an economic ‘natural selection’. I didn’t make that rule up. Its just kind of the way its been like…..forever. I don’t know when this idea that we need to pay people for not doing their job came from.

Most companies make their firing/layoff decisions in December as they review the results for the year ending and putting together their budgets for the New Year. Good folks, show up to work every day, pay their bills on time, trying to educate their kids, and then get a pink slip as a Christmas present. They just aren’t quite giving the return the company needs from them.
Most will get 30 days pay. Chuck will do considerably better than that.
