12/08/2015 at 1:17 PM #94373TexpackParticipantThat is fantastic. How long since we had a first team All-American OL?
12/08/2015 at 1:25 PM #94374Pack78ParticipantThe Thuney family tailgated with us before a game last year-Dad’s a doc-good folks!
12/08/2015 at 1:59 PM #94375BJD95KeymasterThat’s an immense honor. Any idea how far his NFL stock has risen? And where he projects to play at the next level (perhaps as a “swing” lineman?)
12/08/2015 at 2:21 PM #94376WolfanaticParticipantThat is huge. He is so deserving for his work both on and off the playing field. Way to go Joe!!!

Tex, I’m thinkin’ ’79, and Ritcher. The boy did good to draw this kind of national recognition.

That would have been my guess. I still remember him pumping gas beside me at a gas station in Raleigh and there was this tree trunk coming out of his shirt sleeve where a normal person’s arm would have been.

Tim left Raleigh in ’75 or ’76 and headed straight to the FLA Instructional League….Back in town sometime late summer… I asked him how did that go….
he laughed and answered… “Well I was pitching in Fort Lauderdale one night and threw this kid the fastest, hardest pitch I ever threw in my life… and the kid hit the ball in the Atlantic Ocean…
Coach says … I GOTT to learn how to throw a curve ball if …. ”

Regardless… IMO… others may disagree… the best ACC baseball tournament ever was held on the sandlot behind Lee & Sullivan Dorms and featured the bookends…
Stoddard and Mike Dempsey from Grimsley… nothing but 8ft tall overhead fastballs for three days… one starting and the other relieving… next day … same in reverse….
Ask Mr. Dog for the details….
he was there…#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!12/11/2015 at 12:48 AM #94399WufpackerParticipant -
