Trent Dilfer said it best the other day and Steve Young. You are taught as a QB to never jump into a fumble pile. Dropping on the ball yes but jumping into a fumble with everyone is discouraged. This is because other players will take the opportunity to try and hurt you. That is very different from taking hits while running. People say its the biggest game of the year, but your instincts are what takes over. If you have been preached and taught not to jump on a fumble if others are then thats what takes over. You don’t see other elite QBs doing it so why try and hold Cam to a different standard? Did he play poorly and act like an ass yes. But that one play is not the reason they lost that game.
