Participant8 NCHSAA Football Championship Games were played yesterday — most in the snow…
There quite a buzz up in the Triangle these days ’bout high school football… but….Of those 16 teams, we find 5 names in the local fish wrapper this morning….
Champions
New Hanover – 3AARunners Up
East Duplin — 2AA
Havelock — 3A
North Duplin — 1A
Wallace-Rose Hill — 2AAs ya’ll know… All five of these schools are in about a 50 mile triangle roughly defined by I-40, US17 && NC24 …
It’s no wonder we see Coach Kitch’s red truck around town so much….
And the big joke down here… is the “best” team — Hoggard HS lost in the 4A semifinals…
GO PACK!!

ParticipantTarboro must have seen some serious flight in the last 10 years having gone from 3A to 1A in that time period.
The one road a recruiter needs to drive in NC and that would serve all his needs: Hwy 74 from one end to the other and 25 miles north or south from it.

ParticipantWell it might not be exactly off Hwy 74 but looks like DD is making some nice detours….
