* Charlie Strong heading to Texas and Sports Illustrated is asking how will he do in his new role?
* Strong’s departure means new ACC entrant, Lousiville, will be looking for a replacement to step into the ACC Atlantic to battle Florida State and Clemson (and, of course, NC State). Tom Jurich may be the best Athletics Director in the country…so, who will he be able to attract?
* Louisville students know who they want — Bobby Petrino

* It sounds like Al Golden is not going to Penn State? Wow. That would surprise me.
Penn State can cross at least one coaching candidate off its list. Miami coach Al Golden, who was rumored as a potential replacement for the departed Bill O’Brien in Happy Valley, has decided to remain with the Hurricanes.
[snip]
Golden was a three-year letter-winner and a senior captain as a tight end at Penn State, from which he graduated in 1991. Several reports over the weekend said Penn State officials were set to meet with Golden about the school’s opening. A source told ESPN’s Joe Schad on Friday that Golden would consider the Nittany Lions’ job a homecoming of sorts.
* Mike Munchak and James Franklin appear to be on Penn State’s list
