But the long and short of it… is that the ACC’s “poor” showing in the 2014 NCAA tournament resulted in a minimum of $5 Million in ‘lost revenue’, not including additional revenues from any games that might have been played in the Final Four…
Of interest to some… is that the NCAA actually pays these revenues out over a six year period…
and they represent what appears to be in the range of 10-15% of the total TV revenues received…The Rich just keep on getting richer…
Then looking at it from the opposite perspective… the way the ACC teams played…
…at $17.6 Million this season — the NCAA might have overpaid…And I’m pretty sure… losing a Million a year in basketball ain’t going to keep old Johnny Swofford off the front nine over at Grandover…
