Our defense was above average tonight and we didn’t turn the ball over. We attempted 10 more shots than Miami.
That was a pretty solid TEAM performance. Buckets was Buckets. But tonight’s rock star was “Ralston-Turner Overdrive” (I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of that. Awesome, Rick.)

Vandy = Jolly Green Giant.

Ralston-Turner Overdrive = Toucan Sam.Sorry…. ANTHONY just ain’t ready to play the whole game… maybe by mid season next year…
Last time we saw ANTHONY with that opportunity was in the Dean Dome we he took ANTHONY on 3,4,or 5 to the ANTHONY SHOWTIME level….and he was 1-13 for the first half… thereby putting CUZ and the rest of his team mates in a major league “WTF funk”…
Gott just ain’t ready to take that chance again.
It’s NOT that the ANTHONY on 3,4,or 5 play does not have significant value in the right place at the right time… but that requires either a level of judgement / court sense / BBIQ we haven’t seen or ‘substitution’… which is what we have seen lately and will see today.
ANTHONY on 3,4,or 5 will never work every time down the floor…. 6-8 times a half is more than sufficient to put the opposition on their heels.
As long as ANTHONY ‘trusts’ himself more than his team mates… he’ll continue go to the ANTHONY on 3,4 or 5… with the same dismal results we’ve seen all season…. regardless of the number of pigtails he wears.
Ten – Fifteen Minutes of good ball by ANTHONY is the most we can reasonably expect… and yes, *this could be the difference in winning and losing….
It’s been a while since we’ve have seen even that…. so who knows…
As mentioned above… the better alternative is that we should see lots of GOTT’s Zone Defense’s today… and don’t be surprised to see CUZ playing perimeter Defense instead of going to the defensive boards…. Washington and Anya are ready to pick up the slack in those situations.
Some of that depends on which one, if any, of the Miami perimeter players gets the hot hand.
