Game Thread – Wolfpack Football vs Colonels of Eastern Kentucky

Another week, another hopefully mojo generating game thread.

With sincerest apologies to Muddy Waters, today feels like a day for the The King….

Thank you….thank you, very much (/smoldering sneer).

Some good feelz in Wolfpack Nation this week already, as Gott and Co. took to the skies and landed the top PG prospect of the 2016 class.

Yay!!!!

Dennis Smith Jr

Just think how much better he’ll look once we get him outfitted in RED!!!!

In an effort to generate some extra mojo, the Pack will be observing Blackout Rules tonight.  Players will be doing their #PackInBlack thing, and fans are ‘uhsposed to be doing the blackout thingy too.  Though I’ll be duly impressed if we don’t have a Black and Red mosaic which looks decidedly maroon from a distance.  But I’m a pessimist today, so….yeah.

Some folks that didn’t honor the (process) mojo factor today maybe/probably…

Maryland got spanked at home by Bowling Green by a final score of 48-27.

Louisville also fell at home, losing to the Phootball Phi Slamma Jamma’s.  The 34-31 final send the Cards to an 0-2 start.

Auburn had a close call, but ultimately survived in OT vs JaxSt, 27-20.

For a little Eastern Kentucky flavor, I give you “The 21 Foot Rule”….

RIP cousin Danny.  And look out for that hole next time.

And last, but by no means least, I’d be remiss if I didn’t again include the fight song(s)….

Go Pack!!!

NDvsUVA game ending is a fun one…. about to switch over to our doo doo ball game for a bit when this one hits zeros then flip it to Ducks/Sparty in an hour. I love the Pack to death but this schedule is such a turn off, esp. if we’re not going to pound the sh!!!t out of these directional teams.

At least I’m no longer worried we will be today’s elusive upset victim. Still, not exactly a clean performance, to put it mildly. This might not be enough for a road cupcake win the next two weeks.

Speaking of which…are we on the teevee box at all next week? I couldn’t find a listing. That would be infuriating.

If that’s PI, defense is illegal.

This team will need to improve a lot to meet the lost expectations I read on this site

Piss-poor interference call in the end zone, but it’s State’s fault for allowing the Colonel Sanders Boys to drive the field.

Interesting theory, except I doubt most of our regs are going up. 😀

And no chicken and biscuits for the visitors after an excellent goal line stand from a first and goal from the two.

Nice stand, even if not totes pretty.

All in all, a very mediocre half considering the competition. Too many penalties, one receiver on EKU is tearing State’s DBs up, a fumble, a blocked field goal, etc. Yeah, we’re leading 14-0 but we’ve not looked sharp.

Looks like the upset victim will be Pig Sooey.

And the voters who do not demote Auburn and Notre Dame deserve a public shaming.

Notre Dame is always overrated, so I don’t expect them to drop much if at all.

Question is, has UVA actually improved enough to be a real threat?

BJD’s having a good weekend, considering his Everton boys utterly waxed the Russkies today.

On the bright side we’re pitching a shutout, but I expected a lot more than what I’m seeing from the offense. Thinking Dave needs to land us our own Jordan Lynch.

I’m not ready to demote ND just yet… was expecting them to be lights out this season but there’s got to be something said for losing their starting QB early in the 3rd and subsequently losing their 13 pt lead and still getting a W. Just my two pennies though.

If London can keep ’em together, UVa is going to go on to have a noce 7 or 8 win season. That could save him. They looked pretty good today.

Zaire is out for the year at ND with a broken ankle. The Irish are loaded, but that’s a tough thing to overcome. And they have a brutal schedule.

    Get it together, Pack.
