I forgot where I picked this up…but someone on IC pointed out that a church Deacon doesn’t have the power to marry anyone so basically Mr & Mrs Wuf have been shacking up for 30 years.
Maybe the Deacon is also a ordained minister, which is certainly within the realm of possibilities.
IC needs to worry about what might have been going on between their football coach and the tutor. We’ll take care of our business.
It should be stated that Roman Catholic (not Orthodox) deacons are ordained to perform sacraments (including presiding over the marriage ceremony). Of course, THE Deacon is Baptist, and Baptist deacons have power on an autonomous basis. Each Baptist church decides for itself the power that a deacon may have. So yes, the WF Deacon COULD be ordained to perform licensed marriage, but he isn’t required/denied this power. Sort of a square/rectangle relationship.
But really? They are mascots. Calm down ‘Holes.
On a side note, I mentioned that I thought this was cool in another thread (on graduation years I believe). My dad was a freshman in 1981 during the first ceremony between Mr. and Mrs. Wuf, and I’m got to see their second as a graduating senior. Just thought it was kinda neat and sentimental.

And people complain that the wolfdog is hokey…

I’m just glad to see these kids being able to keep it together for so long.
