Toney Baker on ACC All-Access
One of the primary bright spots for NC State football this season has been the strong play of running back, Toney Baker. Baker had a fantastic game on Saturday and now awaits a ruling by the NCAA that will hopefully provide him a 6th year of eligibility and allow him to come back next year. If Baker is able to return, the Wolfpack should have plenty of quality depth at tailback with Curtis Underwood, James Washington and Brandon Barnes all fighting for playing time on the depth chart.
The following video was worth watching.

After watching him for 8 games now, I can see why TOB made him the #1 running back, even though he did fumble that first run in the SC game.
Man, I hope he gets another year. He deserves so much more. He should be playing on Sunday’s right now but . . . .
Come on NCAA, get this one right and let TB come back.
No matter what happens, this guy will do well. His foundation was laid long before he arrived at NC State by his parents. His work ethic will continue to inspire every atlete who ever goes through Ragsdale HS.
TOB said one thing absolutely correct after the FSU game, “Thank God for Toney Baker”. I agree and hope he gets to come back next year.
TB is one of my all-time-favorite Wolfpackers. He is a great young man and has more grit than I can imagine. Having had to go through knee rehab, I can tell you from experience it is a living hell. To do it twice and to do it to return to the level Toney has, well, that says more about him than you could ever realize.
I think the NCAA should throw us a pitty-call. It’s a shame to go from the team Baker saw when he was recruited (strong defense that would work for the offense) to the team we have now (weak defense that can’t hold the score the offense puts up).
I have to shake my head at how that play resulted in two years lost. I’ve bumped my knee harder on the corner of the bed.
TB would have been our alltime leading rusher if things had gone right. I’d say only Ted Brown has a claim to more talent.
TB is the poster child of why there is a medical hardship rule. He should get a 6th year w/ no problems.
I watched him play friday nights for 4 years in H.S. He was quite unbelieveable. Hope he can return to that form.
Baker doesn’t want to come back. He wants to play on Sundays next year.
