Fells Questionable Tomorrow Against Winston-Salem State
Sidney Lowe said that small forward Courtney Fells is questionable for tomorrow’s game in Reynolds Coliseum against Winston-Salem State:
Lowe said Friday that the Wolfpack’s second-leading scorer didn’t practice Thursday because of an ankle bruise he suffered last weekend against Davidson. It’s unclear whether Fells will be ready against the Rams. Lowe thinks Fells would be back for Wednesday’s game against East Carolina if he does sit out Saturday.
Fells was injured against Davidson last weekend.

He sometimes is not there even when he is there.
He’s always questionable.
Ankle? I thought it was his shoulder…
Get well soon … we need you if we’re going to do anything at all this season
Multiple negative comments ripping Fells, Sidney, the Pack, and my supposed too much “positivity” in saying that we’re probably an NIT squad coming up in 3 … 2 … 1 —>
i agree wufpup76, he is easily our best player, excellent 3 point shooter and a slasher, who i would like to see dribble-drive more.
with only one healthy point guard – who probably wouldn’t be playing much on any other ACC team and our 2nd leading scorer injure, thank god we’ve got cupcakes this year. considering these circumstances, i don’t think we did too shabby against davidson. but, we’d better get healthy soon, or it’s going to get ugly. maybe lowe needs to implement a new offense where a point guard isn’t necessary?
^ We do have a major payback game in the RBC next week.
NC State needs to remind ECU who is who in basketball.
“NC State needs to remind ECU who is who in basketball.”
Yes – we do … but – and don’t laugh – ECU is playing really well to start this season … No excuse for potentially losing to them, but they have undoubtedly improved
We very easily could’ve lost to them at home in Sidney’s first season and did lose to them last season … I would expect a close game on Wednesday and be really frightened if Fells is unable to go
“maybe lowe needs to implement a new offense where a point guard isn’t necessary?”
don’t know if you meant it to be, but that was pretty funny considering our last coach
^ There will be no joy in Mudville if we lose to the Pirates in hoops. No matter how good they are, NC State should always beat them.
I know that attitude drives ECU fans crazy, but State’s a Big 4 team in one of the best conferences in college basketball. On their home floor, State should beat ECU 10 of 10 times.
^^
We should beat EZU in bball 10/10 times anywhere. First game played on the moon…still should be a win. No excuses.
I would think Dennis Horner or Simon Harris would get the start at the small forward position in Fells place. I’m a bit curios about this freshmen 6’8″ Kendall Smith and if he would see the floor at small forward any this year.
The other injury news out of Lowe’s press conference is that Tracy Smith was injured in the Davidson game. A minor knee injury that has cleared up and he is fine to play tomorrow. Sometimes there is a reason a player is not getting more minutes in a game.
Well last year was our ONLY F****** loss to them ever in the entire history of the universe! What a joke. Much more interesting b-ball news doesn’t involve any current players, rather a future star…make that a future 5-star:

“Through four games, Harrow is averaging 34.5 points, eight assists, and four steals as he leads the team in all three categories.”
“By our last game in the tournament, there were probably four or five hundred people there mainly to watch him play.”
“It was an unbelievable effort,” said coach Goydish. “We were playing 3-on-5 in the final minutes, and I think Ryan had 24 of his 43 points in the fourth quarter.”
“At the tournament we were just in, the coach we played in our first game was saying that I had a bright future and he had never seen anyone play like that before.”
“I feel like they are coming at me,” he said. “The kids are always coming up to me during the game and asking me if I’m committed to NC Sate. When I tell them I am it seems like they come at me even harder, but I just keep playing my game… I don’t worry about that.”
Good for recruiting purposes to see that young ATL stars are going to NC State!
Forgive the length…but this kid is special. He didn’t play last year because he transferred and had to sit out. Also, did I mention he’s a junior! Nice job Sid.
No Fells? Who’s going to stand on the baseline holding his junk now?
^^
In response to that Harrow article…the story further down is HILARIOUS.
A guy from Walton HS goes for a loose ball, gets dogpiled, gets into a fight…then TEN players from Walton get ejected, the other school gets EIGHTEEN TECHNICAL FREE THROWS HAHAHA!!! Then, Walton has only FOUR players left that hadn’t been ejected, followed by one of those guys fouling out…leaving OUR commit Harrow playing 3 on 5 bball…and he scores 18 points and they still win! CRAZY!!
^ Horner.
Horner is going to hold Fells junk? TMI
^ Good one. His own….
I love it when the humor drops down to my level.
