Vote for Carlos Rodon, Golden Spikes Finalist

NC State's Carlos Rodon is one of three finalists for the 2012 Golden Spikes Award

NC State freshman lefty Carlos Rodon has been named a finalist for the 2012 Golden Spikes Award.  Already having taken the ACC Freshman of the Year award and the ACC Pitcher of the Year award (the first ever freshman to do so, btw), Rodon now has the chance to take home even more national hardware to go along with his first team All American slot.

And Wolfpack fans can help by VOTING!!!

Voting is open until June 15th so vote early and often (haven’t seen many online votes that Pack fans couldn’t sway).  Pack fans are already representing well as Carlos is already enjoying a pretty good lead, something he hasn’t been used to lately.

The award presentation to the winner will be televised on the MLB network on Friday, July 6th, with all three finalists attending.  The two other finalists are Stanford’s Jr. RHP Mark Appel, and Florida’s Jr. C Mike Zunino.

Rodon is one of only three finalists to emerge from an original group of more than sixty, and a semifinalist list of thirty players from around the nation.  He is the first Wolfpack player ever to be named a Golden Spikes finalist.

Thanks, just voted. Looks like Rodon’s currently got 96% of the vote – don’t know how many votes that is, but nice.

So, when you click the button it then says “Vote Again” and you can click it again and again and each time it says “Thanks.” Can you really just sit there and click it a hundred times and they all count?

I clicked refresh and you have to click to get to the voting page and then you can vote again (make sure you’re voting for Rodon!). Voted 5 or 6 myself. Let’s go Pack!

    Keep voting. Rodon’s lead now down to 94% (96%, 2%, 2%).

Easton baseball blog has a run down of yesterdays regional action, featuring the NCSU/Vandy game. Includes some great photos, including a post game shot of Danny Canela getting ready to unload on a Brett Austin in the fetal position, as Ryan Wilkins wisely sidesteps the action.

The winner of the fan vote gets the equivalent of one vote. There are a little over 200 other voters, but I guess every vote counts. I voted.
