‘Yow Howl’ hits the net

Debbie Yow continues to impress both in the public eye and also behind the scenes (as the feedback that we continue to receive from people who have had recent interactions with our Athletics Department are nothing short of glowing.)

Today, the Technician has got something that is going big out on Twitter and we wanted to post here.

I have heard nothing but good things as well about Yow. I was skeptical at first but I am really liking this hire the more I hear about her.

I don’t want to be overly optimistic but I am starting to think that the culture of mediocrity at NC State is coming to an end, Thank God!!!

A bit nutty…outgoing…bold…and I like it. Looks like she is really getting into the Pack, is having fun, and plans on having alot more fun. Go on with it Debbie!!! Aint nothing wrong going a little nutty for your team! I want my AD to love and be a fan of her school and be excited about it and expect the best. Awesome!

I think that would sound pretty impressive with 50000 of us belting it out at Carter Finley to officially welcome Debbie Yow aboard.

(as long as they don’t pipe it through the speakers 20 times)

You can’t help but like her PR campaign.
If this is real and not Mmorex I predict good things ahead.
Dr. Yow so far has said the right thing and made the right moves from a fans prospective.

Since my first visit to Carter-Finley Stadium in the early 1980s, I have never understood why the entire stadium doesn’t make wolf howl noises to go along with the audio of the wolf howling. Never understood it. It would be great!

I wonder how it would be to have the wolf mascot run out of the tunnel with live wolves down the entire field and then shed a ram(tiger, turtle,Deacon) dummy mascot costume-Do you thing this would fire up people? I KNOW! I KNOW! cruelity to animal BULL$%#@-SPCA-PETA

What is it with the wolf howling and the stupid little finger puppet of a wolf?

Are there any other old farts around that are tired of this junk? We didn’t do any of that crap years ago, we just showed up in jeans, t-shirt and plenty of beer. We cussed and hollered the whole time.

Now I’m going out on the back veranda, drink beer and give a call that might bring in the famed Yeti of the north Georgia Mnts.

Did she say “I can be a fool for NC State?” Unfortunately, she doesn’t have the corner on that market. I think she probably means it in a different way than it’s been applied in the past though.

She might be a new candidate for Spivey’s Corner!!

    highstick,

I was putting up an irrigation center pivot years ago with some guys from down around Midway. They said the hollerin’ contest was much better before the MADD chapter in Sampson County banned drinking at Midway High School!!!

I’d rather hear her sing Moon River than howl.

I like it. She’s made a good impression and a warning shot over her coaches bow, so to speak, back in July. Now it’s time back up what is on the sign behind her in the video. Go Pack!

Can she please end the Pork Patrol? Gawdamighty, that’s the dumbest damn thing that has ever come across the audio system at C-F. That thing is not fitting for a flea market in lower Alabama, let alone an ACC football game.

I think it just needs to be called the “Yowl”.

Not fitting for a flea market in lower Alabama……hmmmmm……I like that one.

May I have permission to add that one to my vast array of sayings and gestures?

A list of mine you are welcome to use: (not in any special order)

    1) As quiet as a rat pissin’ on cotton.

    2) It was so dry I had to put a pan of water under the bed for the wife to take root.

    3) The hearse doesn’t follow the armor car and the shrouds don’t have pockets. (you can’t take it with you)

    4) Does 10 lbs of flour make a big biscuit? (in response to a question with an obvious answer)

    5) I dropped my wallet on Franklin Street and was so afraid to bend over and pick it up I had to kick it 4 blocks.

    6) He was so low he’d steal the Lord’s supper and (_____) on the table.

    7) The last time I was drinking white wine and eating hot dogs I ended up at Myrtle Beach at 3:00 AM (said at a wake forest faculty members retirement dinner, cleared the room)

    8) Yes its true. I was the 11-13 year old hollerin’ champion at the Hollerin’ Contest at Spivey’s Corner.(also said at the wake forest event which gave me reason to explain what a hollerin’ contest actually consists of anyway)

Most of these will catch people off guard and cause them to think you at the slickest State graduate ever OR a real idiot.

My first go round at State was bookended by the 2 championships. Those were heady days indeed. And I never saw anyone do the “stupid little finger puppet of a wolf” back then. I don’t know when that got started.

Several years ago I was walking on the pier at Kure Beach wearing a red State shirt as I often do. I met some guy coming the other way who said, “Go State!” and did the finger puppet of a wolf thing. He read the WTF look on my face and said something like don’t you do that? Uhhhhhh, no.

    That’s just rich.
