ACC officials doing their patented ‘Ignore the blatant penalty right in front of my face’ move. That was the line judges responsibility, and he’s right there.

    And the umpire too.

I’ll take 17-14 and be happy with it. Give the D coaches and players time to adjust and review for Maguire.

Damn… these announcers are just a tad up FSU’s rear.

I think we ARE legitimately better than them now. With our rust off and battle tested.

Definitely today, so far. But that’s as far as I’ll go. But I will say we’ve definitely closed the gap and are at least competitive with them, all else being equal.

Football is a game of emotion. We caught them at the right time. We’re peaking, they’re deflated and scrambling to regain their balance, so to speak. Cooks bum wheel certainly helps. He’s their cure-all. But we’re banged up too, but with time to adjust.

Now Mac is in… He’s gonna make it tough. We MUST pressure him, otherwise I’d give FSU the nod at this point, even with a Pack 10 point lead.

Damn, wish they had left in Golston.

is cook not playin for them today?

Came in today playing with a hammy. The favoring always increases the likelihood of another injury. And he got one.

I’m trying to understand exactly what the QB has done wrong today.

He’s not passing like Tom Brady or running like Adrian Peterson, therefore there are Pack fans who will not be happy with his performance.

Is there a reason why the coaching will not give McClendon playing time?

That Oregon Cheerleaderette graduated a few years ago. She’s now a TV sports media person on the west coast. Her brother played WR for ASU.

Perhaps our definitions of ‘progress’ vary and are being conflated with achieved success.

Consistent W’s in big numbers tell us the Wolfpack has arrived.

Progress to me is advancing towards the destination, not solely defined by arriving at it.

With that perspective in mind, I don’t see how any knowlegable fan can argue that substantial progress has not been made.

What is still a legitimate debate is whether or not the current staff will continue the progress and achieve the destination, for each step forward becomes progressively more difficult.

I do see signs that things are headed in the right direction. The RB talent pool alone this year was incredibly impressive. We’re picking up the speed across the board. The DL looks pretty good to me. The defense tackles well. We don’t kill ourselves with penalties. Special teams outside of FG kicking has been very solid. Conditioning looks good. We clearly looked bigger and stronger than Wake and BC, which couldn’t have been said in 2013.

It’s easy to overlook when it’s working , but you forgot the OL. Maybe the most impressive unit of 2015, thus far.

My biggest concern for next year is really at QB. It’s important that we find a successor.

I’m pretty sure we already have. It’s a matter of how steep is the learning curve.

Progress? You gotta know what you’re looking at to see it, or what you don’t see to know it’s not there. Any 6 year old can do an analysis of the single metric of W’s vs L’s.

BC’s defense is legit, or at least so says FSU and Clemson. Wake Forest is a house of horrors, or it was. The early schedule wreaked, but it was not crafted by design. The 2 deep is littered with high performing freshmen and sophomores, sans the consistency of an upper classman. There is even more talent wearing the redshirt.

It’s night and day if you’re looking in the cupboard. It’s night and day if you’re looking on the field. It’s night and day if you’re looking on the sideline. It’s night and day on the practice field.

Mixing it all together takes longer, especially with no pathfinders among the players. The results will be more tangible once the cupboards are stocked with players coaching players and players policing players.

The coaches will have completed part of their job once the players start doing it for them. Jacoby is a great leader and a calming force, but he’s still cutting his own path. And everyone knows it. The nonsense with Senior Thorton showed all to well this team still has some distance to go.

Ironically, what some are considering failure for this weekend is itself a sign of progress.

Take the Wolfpack and the points.

An undefeated Big 12 team would have a strong case to get in over ND. I can’t see ND holding them off.

I’m pretty sure that’s a unanimous consensus, at least all the talking heads seem to say so.

..and then they’d complain it took too long and wasn’t loud enough.

Reminds me of the Geico commercials. That’s what they do, CD.

They would’ve fired Dabo years ago.

Glad you mentioned that, I paid $10 to park on the other side of a completely empty parking lot. I feel so valued as a fan and alumnus.

Yeah, the last straw for me was when they started blocking row after row after row off empty fair ground (State, as in the State of NC, owned, ie public) parking to force you into a tiny area of pay parking.

Oh, I also really liked it when years ago, they started charging for the internet feed of the FREE radio broadcast. Something that Cuban’s Broadcast.com, and later Yahoo, provided for free for every school. That was, of course, before schools realized it could be used as another way to squeeze a few more bucks from fans and alums. Way to continue the warm fuzzies to loyal fans and alums who might be traveling for business.

It’s all about the $$$. I got the message and returned it in kind.

Clemson is the better team. Watson had an off night and they still won by 10. Tiggers win that game on a neutral field or in Tallahassee.
