ParticipantIt’s not really complicated…. and there’s no magic bullet…
1. the four *NC Bigs have twenty fouls… the four NCS bigs have 20 fouls…
2. *NC has Paige and two freshman at guard.. NCS has Barber, Lacey, Turner
3. Once again… Tokoto is the wildcard.. same as last game…NCS has 2 Martins, and a Lee…
Deal with it…
We GOTT to win on Tuesday night!

ParticipantSo nobody knows why kyle and cody not playing? Doghouse for some reason….
Gott is an 8-9 man rotation coach. I think that’s all there is to it.

ParticipantFrenchie is the right play when New Cat is providing some points. He gets some garbage points and does a good job on the boards.

ParticipantTech has adjusted to us crowding the perimeter and is blowing by at will.

ParticipantThat was a piss poor defensive effort for the last 4.8.

I wanted to make an economics-related joke, but I’m a lefty so I don’t really understand how money works.Give this man a hand. The Invisible Hand.

ParticipantVitale doing the Duke game … He probably can’t wait to lose his sh*t during this game after missing Wed. night
Based on 13 references to it so far, he was under K’s desk 90 minutes before the game.

ParticipantI’m glad I have wine in the pantry for this. Cheap, gameday Walgreens on-sale wine.
The red clearance tag makes it even better.

ParticipantESPN 3 is now available through your Direct TV log in and password information.
This ends the public service announcement.
Bye TWC. Just one more connection to break and that’s internet cable.
I believe that also includes all of Watch ESPN as well. I have a hotel or two that I stay in that doesn’t carry ESPNU so it will be nice to have the internets, as Bobby Bowden would say, as a fall back.
DirecTV is pretty solid. I’ve been with them for 9-10 years and I’ve never had a problem with the way they handle their business.

ParticipantRPI is ONE component that the committee considers.
I saw references to “Body of Work”. Jay Bilas says every year that this is about “Who did you play and who did you beat?” I really like that description. The RPI attempts to quantify the RELATIVE strength of the Who’s. That’s all it really does. The committee relies on eye witness testimony from people who actually watch these teams during the year so the “eye test” is employed as well. The committee has been very open about what teams need to do to qualify. The only teams that can squeal in my view would be smaller schools that can’t get any P5 schools to play them. I’m not sure they really exist because if you are a pretty good smaller school, coaches like Gott will schedule you.
The other thing I would note is that EVERY bubble team has an issue or six. That is why they are on the bubble. If we don’t get in, we will need look no farther than ND, Wofford, and Clemson.

ParticipantThink in 83 the shot clock went off in the last 2 minutes of each half, but there was a shot clock. Can’t recall how many seconds it was.
Shot clock was 30 seconds and was turned off for the last 4 minutes of the game. Not sure about the half.

ParticipantTeX – define margin of error. If we go 4-1 we’re in. 3-2, it will come down tournament.
4-1 is my definition. That means we win the games we will be favored in (VT, Cuse & BC?) and split the games where we won’t be favored (CU & UNCCH). That’s a tall order. ‘Cuse and BC will be tough, tough games. Will winning any of those games other than UNCCH really boost our RPI? Losing any of those other than UNCCH will put us begging for helpThere is a lot more to lose than there is to gain over the last five games.

ParticipantAbu, Anya, and Freeman do a really good job finding the open space when Cat forces their man to rotate on penetration.
Due to travel, this is the first game I’ve watched with Cat 2.0. His aggression is helping everyone else on offense and his defense hasn’t suffered. He made a couple of steals on back-to-back possessions late yesterday that were critical to stemming the tide of the Louisville comeback.
We shall see if the hole that has been dug is too deep. If we play like we did yesterday, it won’t be but the margin for error is gone.

ParticipantCat deserves the game ball, the water bottle, the ice pack and several towels. I have never seen an in season “light switch moment” like his in my 50 years watching college basketball.

ParticipantUp eight with 38 seconds to go. We have a shot.

ParticipantNeed points here

ParticipantHere it comes.
Texpack
ParticipantThat was a horrible sequence. Fall down TO. Give away the rebound for two
Texpack
ParticipantCat hasn’t had a rest this half. Hope we can hold up through this minute or two rest.
Texpack
ParticipantWe have set ourselves up for the collapse. Foul trouble may get us late.
Texpack
ParticipantCat is keeping us in this for now.

ParticipantAnd you saw the other 4 guys just standing there, like they knew Lacey wasn’t gonna pass the rock.
After two dribbles in the back court it was obvious.

ParticipantLoading up on fouls. We will die a slow death at the line.
