Well I have come to accept that NCSU isn’t the job it was in 1990. unx BOG influence and inept university and AD leadership has seen to that (BTW our USNWR ranking fell a lot during that period as well but Woodson has been bringing it up).
Hate to say it, but Archie would take tOSU job over us, it is a better job. What NCSU has going for it is anyone that’s good at all can improve the program, its harder to improve a decent program than a bad program. Ohio and the midwest is easier recruiting with a down Indiana and Archie knows it well.

Be prepared, we may have to settle for a lesser known mid-major or smaller coach but hey, all most all of our successful coaches were that kind of hire.

He has a point. What IF we do a remarkable like Syracuse did a few years back???

Wulf, if we do that I’ll have a stroke! Its not like we’ve been playing well and just come up a little short; we’ve been getting killed 24-51 points with one of the most talented rosters we’ve had in years. There is something totally wrong with this team and it starts at the top.

Well they’re up 65-57 with 1:24 to go but never mind the commentators said Archie should just wait for the unx, Duke, or Kansas jobs to open up. Move along NCSU, nothing to see here…..

Debbie is the best AD we’ve had since Willis Casey. If I’m wrong tell me who was better….

Yow is by far the best AD we’ve had since Willis Casey and the 1st one with “a pair” since Casey and I don’t get the criticism.

OH GESUS, just another Katz/Bilas/Gminski/Gold hit piece on “no one wants the NC State Job”.

Williams didn’t want to come to State because they didn’t have a vehicle for getting dummies in and keeping them eligible.

I remember he had some big recruit at Kansas who could not make 800 on the SAT after several tries. The kid came to NC and took it and guess what? He made 800! It was an academic miracle!

Saw this in the Observer this morning and you know what? I have to give Gott credit, he’s going down with the ship when he could have jumped in a life raft and made a get-away.
He does owe it to the kids and perhaps he can leave without bitterness and perhaps encourage a couple to hang around and and see what happens.
This will be a rough ending and media circus so it is no small thing to stay.

I wish I could say we may see a mini rally from the team but I doubt it because for whatever the reason Gott just doesn’t have the ability to endear himself to players. Didn’t do it at Bama and hasn’t done it here.

You know that beat down we gave VATech that made me think that perhaps the Pack was Back seems like years ago now.

I think she’s playing this perfectly. She could have waited until we lost the play-in round of the ACCT but did it now, this way she has the ability if not luxury of jumping every other P5 program that’s going to be coach hunting after their season ends. At least some of our issues previously came from our searches not being poised to move at season’s end then dragging on past when the good people were gone.
I think a least part of a search is timing. Being 1st in the market is an advantage.
The best situation would be for our next coach to be named the day after his season ends at his current job.

All these guys make a living off of being negative…unless they are talking about Duke or unx….so no surprise they pooh pooh our job. They did it 6 years ago and six before that etc etc. back to when V left and it was “the mess at NC State”.

Many in the media think that you can’t win big at NC State, in spite of the fact that NC State did win big over several decades. They see this past history resulting in intense fan expectations, that make the job a “thankless job.” Too much pressure and expectations when they only won by luck and/or cheating more than 20 years ago.

Yes and a lot of that was with a HS coach (Case).

I am so sick and tired of all this stuff.
There is too much media, that CBS article had 422 posts (when I looked); everyone running off at the mouth and no one listening.

Bloggers, writers, ESPN hosts, Bilas, Gminski, how about you STFU! And BIT ME TO BOOT!!!! Let Debbie do her job and if the chips fall bad you can tell us what losers we are after the fact.
These guys think they set policy on sports.

I have said many times: when V left State, unx had 10 ACC championships State had 10 and Duke had like 8; unx had 2 NTs, State had 2NTs and Duke had 0.
How do those numbers look now?

Yeah State fans expect more and we deserve more.

    SO BITE ME!!!!

Hey Bilas, Gminski, how did your f’ball program look before Cutt came? They were big time way back, Cut came after 4 seasons made them respectable with 4 straight bowl appearances but last year was 4-8. Wonder how many more of those he can do and keep his job?
Cut is as good as Duke can do but I bet they’ll cut him loose if lays another egg.

Everyone who went to the Rose Bowl at Wallace-Wade is dead and almost everyone who attended an ACC Tourney at Wm Reynolds is about dead, you guys keep this talk up and everyone who remembers when it was NCSU & unx and Duke and Wake were tag alongers to keep us honest will be dead soon.

If UVa can revive, if VaTEch can revive, then we can revive.

I quit looking at FB during the election cycle and it was liberating, I’m about to take the same vow from internet/cable sports.

They are a scappy bunch…probably not as talented as we have had many years ago, but they certainly are well coached and have a great deal of HEART.

Wonder if Wes has ever considered coaching guys?

We should just hire a high school coach and put the money towards football or badminton.

Everett Case came to State College from a HS. Maybe you’re on to something eas!

Because Hillary’s foreign policy is based on Scoupe Jackson principles. Her position is the neo-conservative position which declares that the US is the indispensable nation whose goals are noble and without question.

Trump claims to be America 1st in nature which is the inherent position of the vast majority of the republic as well as the desire of the Founders.

Trump broke with and attacked the Republican establishment which is pro-war, pro-intervention. Putin knows that Trump is not ideological thus he knows he can cut a deal.

    McCallum

I do accept that as a legit proposition, then my question becomes :what we have been doing has been a fisco in Russian relations so maybe it is deal making time.

Another related point which has gone unmentioned in all of this ‘Trump hate’ related to Putin is that one of O’Bama’s main campaign points in 2008 was sitting down with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. How did that work out for you (us)?! He made a fool of him and cut ridiculous deals (like getting all that money …in cash…that was promised to the defunct Shaw of Iran…brilliant).

    So I don’t get this:
O’Bama talking to Ahmadinejad considered great by the media and political hacks
Trump talking to Putin considered toxic by the media and political hacks

Break that one down for me MCCallum

Chuck Yeager. Chuck did NOT have a “degree” or BS in Engineering. He was the most qualified, according to many on the selection committee when it came to flying….they thought he would NOT comprehend the high level of physics and aeronautical engineering that NASA demanded of the original 7. Read his story sometime. He was the Sully of the test pilots….

I agree and have only the utmost respect for them all and especially Yeagar but I heard this very point discussed ( probably on Greg Norry driving to the airport in the middle of the night). Flying a space ship that is controlled and guided by ground engineers isn’t the same thing as dead-sticking a fighter jet. So I do see the point.

And as for Glenn, he had 4 lives in one any one of which would have made him a great man: fighter pilot, WWII and Korean, experimental jet pilot, astronaut, statesman.

It is truly amazing how much some do with the one life they’re given and how little others do. Most of us are somewhere in the middle.

    Godspeed John Glenn.

Oh and Oakwood Elementary Hickory NC being brought into the auditorium to watch a small black and white TV on a cart…but I saw it and was a part of it and that lead to a lifetime hobby or model rockets and astronomy.
