Home › Forums › All StateFansNation › Geno Auriemma: Men’s College Basketball Is “A Joke”
Yea, Geno has the advantage of recruiting and getting the top talent every year- talent that would be one and done in mens basketball. Then he gets 4 years out of them. What we have to remember about mens ball is that the best talent(no necessarily the best player) leaves after 1 year. They can only develop so far and it does change the game. No more corchiani/monroe or hurley/laettner type duos who play at high level together for four years.
Hey, Geno, is anyone watching men’s college basketball tonight????
Duke’s 68-63 comeback win over Wisconsin on Monday night on CBS drew a 17.1 overnight rating and 27 share. CBS and Turner Sports said Tuesday that that was the best since an 18.0/28 in 1997 when Arizona upset defending champion Kentucky in overtime. It was up 33 percent from the 12.9/21 for UConn’s win over Kentucky last year.
Every time someone critiques the game (media) some name coach wants to put his name in the pot
then there is rule change, changing the rules every year or two is what is ruining the game
go back to the original intent of the game and enforce the rules as intended to be.
the college does not need to follow the road the pro’s have gone to, just be the game and play
it the way it was intended.
If a ref makes a mistake then so be it, if he continues to make mistakes then cut him loose.
how many time have the announcers such as Vitale this official is one of the best but you never hear
them say this guy not a very good official (their are bad officials hint– Karl ).
I am on a rant, I enjoy watching college basketball and hear people say it is terrible to watch
some games are not as entertaining as others but I love watching them all.
For a while I have maintained that the biggest problem with basketball is the lack of spacing because players are quicker and longer. My proposed fix is to make the courts bigger. Sounds like the NBA is considering that; I have no comment on the 4 point shot:

Logistically it would have to be a top down experiment; start with the NBA and if it works, expand it to D1 college basketball and it probably doesn’t need to go any further than that.
