For those interested, Tim Clark tees off in the fourth and final round of the Sony Open at approximately 3:30 EST this afternoon. Clark sits in a tie for 5th place with Crimson Tide product Justin Thomas at 12 under. Baylor’s Jimmy Walker smoked the field yesterday with an 8 under 62 and leads at 16 under. Matt Kuchar is in second place, two strokes back followed by Brian Harman (UGA) and Troy Merritt (Boise St.) at -13.
Clark carded a 2 under 68 yesterday that included 5 birdies and 3 bogies to go with first and second round 65s. He’s off to a good start this season, making the cut in all 6 events he has played (including the Sony). He finished second at the WGC-HSBC Champions event, and now sits 9th in the FedEx Cup standings. His previous 5 events have netted him just under one million dollars ($964,435.) – a figure that he will certainly eclipse today.
Now, I realize that today’s round and Tim’s tee time coincides greatly with some NFL games being played today, but the absolutely outrageous, mind blowing, nauseating, scream at your TV, number of commercials should allow those interested an opportunity to switch over to NBC occasionally to see if TC can literally pull a few tricks out of his bag. Hopefully, he’s got an 8 or 9 under in that bag, and does a little field-smoking of his own.
