I don’t get the sense there is any sort of bias when it comes to the NBA Draft. They draft guys I’ve never heard of in Croatia and Brazil. They drafted high school kids (Bryant, Garnett, LeBron, etc.) They see enough of these guys to form an opinion.
Now NCAA All American voting is a different matter. The Dukes, UNCs, KUs, UKs, UConns matter. See Jabari Parker – Duke. Warren was ACC POY but Parker garnered All American honors. As did Shabazz Napier from UConn. The image of the program matters there. But not when it comes to the draft. Watch these NBA playoffs, which have been spectacular by the way. You will see players from all over the place. Never heard of some of them but now they are studs.
