I mean, recruiting and motivation ARE aspects of being a good coach. Especially in today’s game. But they aren’t the end all, be all, and if the third leg of the stool is fatally flawed (as is the case here), it will all come crashing down.
If we go out and hire somebody who can’t/won’t recruit (like Lutz) we would be similarly fatally flawed, just in a different flavor. Common mistake when a replacement hire is made.
