State/Miami Game Thread

I’m too lethargic to fully live blog, but might add a few thoughts in the main body text each quarter. Hopefully there will be lively banter in the comments.

This will be a good test of whether Miami might be better than generally expected, or if the Georgia Tech team Da U vanquished last week is just a dumpster fire. I think I know what to expect out of the Pack today.

“best team he has put on the field at that school”

I think this has been pretty well disproven at this point.

Wolfman, you are right, they said we could not get a good basketball coach either, how did that work out

As far fetched as it seems, the notion that Amerson was on the take, his play does make one wonder. I still can’t believe the two plays he made or didn’t make. One was jumping off sides on the FG with no one in front of him. Two was the lack of even trying on the last hail merry pass catch with seconds to go. Amerson just stopped on the play before the ball was even caught.

I told my wife that this game was unexcusible by TOB and the players. Course its par for the course, how many times have we heard hype about how good this TOB team is gonna be only to see a big turd on the field.

I’ll be in my usual seat in Carter agains FSU, with no boos but a cooler full of cold ones and que waiting in the parking lot when the tomahawk chant gets loud….and it will.

Said in Jim Mora’s voice, “Bowl game? Bowl game? Dont talk about bowl games. You kiddin me?”

Can we schedule a State volleyball game for during the FSU game, and televise the volleyball game on ABC/ESPN2 instead! Besides a well-played Pack game, there are other more interesting sights to watch in volleyball as well!

I’m really happy that Purvis was cleared.

I’d hate to think it, but sudden big money, enough to shift the line, only hours before game time, doesn’t exactly help appearances.

NM – That money apparently went down on us and shifted the line the other way. Somebody somewhere is pissed, lol.

And I’m officially off the TOB bandwagon. It was reasonable to expect his team to do well this year. A WTF loss is not unusual for TOB’s team, but this was far beyond a WTF loss. This was an inexcusable joke of a “performance”. Games like this suggest that there is something seriously wrong beneath the surface. It doesn’t much matter what happens from here on out, not that I expect State to reel off a long winning streak. FSU will beat us like an Indian war drum next week.

If Amerson was embarrassed by Tennessee, what is he feeling now? Oh and we have FSU next week, just another opportunity for Amerson to show off his All-American skills. I would rather see a freshman make those mistakes and cost us a game than see our junior All-American get burned at least 4-5 times for touchdowns.

NCSU84, REALLY?? Step back and take a deep breath?! Done that long enough. Its not about the kids making mistakes (which they will do today and tomorrow) and NO we don’t want Amato back (stupid question) BUT its about the fact that Coaching is what these guys do as a CAREER. Can’t imagine if I would make some senseless mistake and not keeping a prevent man behind the last reciever what I might be facing if I failed my folks. They even have a Head Coach, Def Coord., Asst. Head Coach/Def “expert”, Defensive Back Coach……on and on, just ONE of these guys should have called a PREVENT! Patiance has worn off!!

I dont think i can bare to watch FSU beat us and chant the whole game. It’s gonna happen. 62-0 FSU and the stadium will be half empty after half time.

At least we’re not getting our asses handed to us by LA Tech at home.

Graywolf, don’t mistake me for a member of the TOB fan club. Just really didn’t feel the guys were focused today, and made really stupid mistakes, they haven’t made since the UT game in Atlanta. How many times do you win a game at any level with 6 turnovers. Trust me, if I don’t see a more focused team next week, on national television, with no turnovers, I will join the others in wanting TOBs departure. I certainly would like a more enthusiastic coach on the sidelines, that knows how to coach. But I am not expecting a blowout next week, and even think we might win, As I have to pull for my team, regardless of the coach. As for Sendek, I never was a fan.

VTpackfan said “Not since Shackleford has it been as obvious that a player is on the take. Check with gambling activity by this shady Leak character and it could atleast make sense that Amerson is one of the worst players out there. It’s either that or Mono.”

REALLY — A NC State fan? None of that was proved. It was all part of the BS mud slinging done by Saint Monteith and UNC-CH. Now a NC State fan is spouting this BS on here. Wow….WpackGirl said it best “you win with class and you should lose with class”.

I am stunned by some of the posts on here. Just stunned and disgusted.

TOB’s loyalty to his assistants is leading to his dismissal. Loyalty is one thing when they’re dong a good job, but that is certainly not the case here. Maybe Archer got delayed and missed the flight back.

Kinda like the rest of us fell about our football program! I think our D just got burned for another TD waiting to board the plane!

  17. gopack 17 09/29/2012 at 9:07 PM #

What is missing from the TOB teams and always seems to be consistent? 1) NO emotion. 2) Swagger 3) Same old predictable play calling. We need a dynamic coach that does not wipe the dust off archaic coaching approach. Same old story different day, not trying to be Debbie downer but this flat out sucks.

Re: ancsu87, ““I am stunned by some of the posts on here. Just stunned and disgusted.”

Stop with the melo dramatic comments. I am a NCSU grad and watched this game with a US Federal judge who affirmed (as a sports fan only) that point shaving should be looked into. Is there any other reasonable explanation?

If Amerson is going for the DeAngelo Hall game plan then the least he can do is look like he is putting his body on the line. He is always 5 yards away from his cover man. Good DB’s are hanging all over their assignments and occasionally get called for passing interference. I don’t know that Amerson’s body touched a UM uniform in that game.

    Bench him against FSU!

    NCSUFaninSECcountry:

I am an NCSU grad too. What does that have to do with anything?

Secondly Shackleford nor anyone on the NC State BB team was ever convicted of point shaving during that time period so what was the point of that comment other than to blantly be melo dramatic about a football loss.

Thirdly it is quite melodramatic to quote a US Federal Judge but only as sports fan stating that point shaving should be looked into.

But hey continue to beat the hell out of 18-22 year old players while being upset at the coach and the world.

Go Wolfpack … NC State Grad … did I meantion that?
