Coach Lowe’s radio interview + some recruiting

I generally skip any and everything that is related to Bomani Jones…but, I forced myself to listen to this interview because it was with Coach Lowe and I found it worth my time. So, I didn’t want to call it to your attention if you hadn’t heard it.

Additionally, ACCSports.com/ACC Sports Journal is allowing free access to their NC State team report today that includes some insight into NC State Basketball recruiting. Link.

Coach Lowe’s Quote of the Day

lowe.jpg

“There’s only one voice, and that’s my voice,” Lowe said. “… It’s my way. And our guys understand that”……”I can assure you, we will never have that situation again,” Lowe said. “They’re going to accept their roles, and I think our guys know that. And if they don’t, they won’t play.”

- NC State Head Basketball Coach, Sidney Lowe sharing some very important perspectives in Wednesday’s News & Observer

We are not going allow any comments here as these quotes are just an extension of this entry below.

Dick Sheridan interview on WPTF

While we are talking about coaches in the state of South Carolina, then it is great time to link this interview with Dick Sheridan (with special appearance by Bobby Purcell)

“Redneck NC State” perpetuated by Lee Fowler’s embarrassing radio appearance

Q: What are the important items that require time and effort of men that run $50 million businesses in 2008?

A: Calling into radio stations to discuss “cougars” in mock drafts, of course!!

As you will see and hear by clicking to 850TheBuzz’s blog entry, the esteemed leader of NC State’s Athletics Department took the time and the initiative to call 850TheBuzz this morning to share his thoughts on attractive older women - also known as “cougars”.

Did any of you really think that Loose Lips Lee would forego any ‘open line’ to dial into a radio show?

Audio from Tom O’Brien interview on 850 am (Updated 9:45am)

Coach Tom O’Brien was interviewed on Adam’s Gold radio show today. This is the first time I have ever been to 850’s blog, so I must give them credit for its content. There is a lot of good stuff over there.

Check here for the full audio.

Two Coach Lowe Interviews (Updated 10pm ET): ‘Not that I can discuss at this point’

Interview with 850TheBuzz

Interview with the media

The real story of the day may come from what was not said in Coach Lowe’s time with the media:

Q: Any other personnel changes?
A: Not that I can discuss at this point.

Q: Not just the players, but any other staff changes?
A: Not that I can discuss at this point.

The following are comments related to the 850TheBuzz interview:

Let me just say…I LOVE listening to Coach Lowe. Nobody is perfect, but I really appreciate his articulation of his perspective.

Lee Fowler appearance on 99.9FM Wednesday morning

No…you read that headline correctly.

One of the only Athletics Directors in the country to have his own television show needs to make another radio appearance.

Update: You can click here to hear the interview.

In addition to his regular column in the Wolfpacker magazine and the recent tour of the entire State of North Carolina with the Wolfpack Club Caravan, NC State’s Athletics Director has made appearances and given thorough interviews to GoPack.com, PackPride.com, the News & Observer and WRAL-TV5.com in just the last 60 days.

All Focus on…Lee Fowler, of course!

At a time when all focus should be on the quest of NC State’s Baseball to reach the College World Series - the Pack will travel to Georgia this weekend - our ‘esteemed’ Athletics Director turns some attention on…HIMSELF, of corse

Yesterday, Pack Pride highlighted an ‘extended interview’ that Lee Fowler gave WRAL-TV5 over the weekend. WRAL-TV also ran similar video interviews with Tom O’Brien and Sidney Lowe. The reason we aren’t criticizing Coach Lowe and Coach O’Brien for their inverviews is because (1) they are actually COACHES and don’t just play one in their fantasies and (2) they haven’t been interviewed at extreme lengths by GoPack.com, PackPride.com, 850TheBuzz and the News & Observer in just the last six weeks!

Chip Alexander Q&A with TOB

LINK. Not much news, but does provide another good window into Coach O’Brien’s steady, cerebral mindset. The Dick Sheridan comparisons look more apt every day. He also says we should expect to win championships. Imagine that!

Coach O’Brien Keeping Pack on the Track to Coming Back (Updated with 850 Audio Link)

The Red & White football game is approaching this weekend and Wolfpack fans are starting to look ahead to the 2008 season. (That’s what we do as NC State fans - look ahead…OR…look very far in the past).

I just had to tell you how impressed I continue to be with NC State’s Head Coach, Tom O’Brien.

About this time last year we were basking in the love of a lot of national praise for TOB. You will be interested in the entry which is accessible by clicking here.
